  1. Thanks Model56s, the Monte Carlo has 27,000 miles on it. No quality issues that I can think of, I know GM had paint issues back then, but since it's been garage and cover, the paint is holding up fine. My brother had a GMC Jimmy, it was blue / silver.... the paint was coming off. The dealership was aware of the paint issues and they ended up painting his truck. Steve
  2. Now I remember it..... I'll have to look at the video tape of the cars entering the show field to see it in action 🙂 it's a beauty !!
  3. Which car Kerry ? I know about the Pontiac that you are restoring, you have another one ?
  4. Here is my 1986 Monte Carlo SS that I purchase new in August of 1986. I never really thought of it as a collector car, it was always kept in the garage and I had my 1969 Impalas that I always referred as my antiques. But since it's now over 37 years old, I guess it's time to consider it a " collector car". I just participated in the HPOF class at Hershey. ( photo credit: Richard Lentinello ) Steve
  5. Thanks for all the replies....there is moisture getting into the vehicle, I've notice a lot of condensation on the inside of the windshield, so there might be a leak with the windshield gasket....I need to resolve that issue before going ahead with the mold ( ever notice when your about to sell a vehicle, something always happens ? - it doesn't want to leave us... 😄 ) Steve
  6. Sure did....drove it down the New York State Thruway ( ran great at 70 mph ) then to 287 and over to 78....took about 3.5 hours. We went back 81 to 84, that's where we hit the rain. Steve
  7. Finish up with getting all the road grime off the car from the return home trip this past Saturday.... then back to work on the house.... Steve
  8. Kerry, I had no idea as well.....back in 2010, we went on a family trip to Hershey Park with our four kids. When we got off of Interstate 81 and was heading towards Hershey Park, we drove by the Auto Museum. We ended up visiting the museum a few days later and I joined the club..... a year or so later I got on the forum. Steve
  9. I finally found a video on Youtube, filmed by "OutOfOrderGarage", 2 hrs worth..... the video is too large to post here, but it was excellent ! Steve
  10. Getting ready to sell my '07 GMC van and while cleaning it out a few weeks ago, I've noticed mold growing on the seats / carpet / seat belts and steering wheel ( it's been sitting, has not been used in a month ). I used some Clorox wipes and some after market spray cleaner for auto interiors and I thought I was done with it. Well, I went to move the van today and the mold has return. I can't sell it with this issue, what can I do to permanently remove it ? Steve
  11. I don't see any Monte Carlos ( base model or SS ) anymore around my area.... I had people at an intersection waiting for the light to change ask if I want to sell it...lol Hagerty keeps sending me emails about increasing the replacement value on it, something I need to look in.
  12. Thanks Kerry...... yeah that lady stopped by with her husband and started to ask a lot of questions about the car.... nice people!
  13. Thanks Dave, I appreciate it..... I'm not sure if it's rare combination.....the owners of the other Monte Carlos at the show came around and commented that they really never seen one with a grey interior like mine, just the maroon like theirs and I'm not sure about the T-tops, if they are rare or not..... Thanks for asking
  14. I would like to know if any of the membership video tape the show cars entering the show field or exiting the show....my daughter who is serving in the Navy could not attend the show and would like to see the show cars if a tape was available. Thanks !
  15. If you went to a great restaurant while here during the show, list them here...on our third night here, we went to a Steakhouse just down the road from where we were staying - the food was excellent and we plan on returning again next year. * Dodge City Steakhouse 1037 Paxton Street, Harrisburg Steve
  16. Thanks Walt, it was a pleasure seeing you again and meeting your son ! I'm glad that my wife finally got to meet you as well.....she was very impress with your automotive history....( looks like my next car will be pre-war 🙂 ) Steve & Janel
  17. Just got home from Hershey this afternoon. Just wanted to say how much my wife, son and I enjoyed the show! We met a few friends and made new ones, everyone ( volunteers, vendors, security and judges ) were so nice to us ! This was our first trip down and first showing of my Monte Carlo SS in the HPOF category. We will be back next year ! Steve & Janel
  18. We are heading down tomorrow, are we allowed to view the auction vehicles ? ( What building was that ? ) Sorry for the questions, first timer..... Steve
