  1. Thanks for posting....That's me standing behind my Monte....
  2. That would be very cool...... I've contacted the Chevrolet Dealership to see if they had any records going back that far..... they didn't. There is a door service sticker from 1980 at that dealership of an oil change with just over 1000 miles listed.
  3. I know that I posted a picture of my Impala in another thread, but I thought it should be here with the other unrestored vehicles... it's a 327 / 235HP with a turbo350 with 7000 miles, it's all original. I purchase it in 2004 out of Audubon, Mn with 4900 miles. There were two previous owners: Henry Anderson from Wayzata, Mn. who took delivery on September 9, 1969 from "Village Chevrolet Co." in Wayzata. Then at some point, Ms. Gloria Van Nyhuis of Nevis, MN purchased the Impala. It was purchased at an estate sale from a Ebay "flipper" who I purchase it from. I think I paid $14,000 for the car back in 2004.
  4. I noticed in this picture that the wheel-lip molding was removed ( probably to demonstrate / check for bondo ) I have to say, I kinda like the look of the Cutlass without a vinyl top ! Steve
  5. Thanks for posting Kerry......beautiful cars !
  6. Great, now I don't have to wait for a reply back from the dealership....
  7. I didn't realized that, I always figured that a 4-barrel would need a dual exhaust system to help the engine breath... Thanks again Glenn.... I appreciate yours and Joe's input !
  8. I didn't noticed that.... I sent an email to the dealership, asking for a photo of the body plate, I'm curious to see if it had a vinyl top ( what Glenn mention above ) Steve
  9. Thanks Joe... So I'm thinking now it's more like a 130K mile Cutlass....
  10. Just noticed this, masking tape lines on the chrome molding strip ?
  11. Getting the itch again, been online looking and came upon this '72 Cutlass... showing just over 30,000 miles, looks like a re-paint ?? If it was a 130,000 miles, you would see signs like excessive wear with the interior ( seats, steering wheel etc. ), but it looks good.... A build sheet is included in the ad. Does anything stands out that doesn't look correct for this model year? Thanks ! https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/oldsmobile/cutlass-supreme/2718479.html
  12. My Godfather had the exact one, but it had the small block 350 in it..... I believe 3 years later during the gas crunch, he traded it in on one of these....
  13. Definitely ! That van has been "retired", it was the first and last time I towed with it.
  14. Thanks ! I ended up selling the Impala to a collector out in Ohio in 2015. I used the funds to purchase my ultimate Impala: a documented 1969 SS427. I've been collecting NOS parts for it over the past 8 years, hopefully within a year or so, I'll have it painted and then I'll show it at Hershey. Steve
  15. My father passed on December 25th, 2000.. I was 35, but in those 35 years, he was a huge influence on the type of antique vehicles that I have today. Mostly GM ( there was that time he purchased a '77 Cougar XR7 for Mom ) but in my early years / teenager years, it was Chevrolet.. he took the time and shown me the basic maintenance on how to do a tune-up, oil changes etc...later years, he saw me start the restoration of a '69 Impala, but passed before seeing it completed. So now I have a few antiques, all GM in my collection, they all take me back to a simpler time. So thanks to my Father, I'm hooked on this hobby and GM ! So, did your Father influence your passion for specific brand of antiques ? Steve
  16. Just amazing !! I can't believe how large this vehicle is..... what is the size of those tires ? Steve
  17. That would be great, thanks Steve ! Steve
  18. I never got to stop by the Research Center back in October while attending the Hershey Show, but out of curiosity, what vehicles are currently on display there ? I know that the 1908 Olds is there, but would enjoy seeing pictures of the other vehicles. I'm sure that the other members would enjoy seeing them as well. Thanks ! Steve
