  1. By the way, is that the original paint ? It looks really nice!
  2. As always, nice work Martin ! The previous owner of my '69 Impala SS " did " all the bushing. Well, when I went to install / align the NOS front fenders, I was going nuts with the fender to door alignment.....long story short, he forgot to replace the bushing on the radiator core support. I installed the new bushings and the door to fender alignment came into spec. Steve
  3. I've seen amber headlights on vintage vehicles all the time, but what is the purpose behind having them on a vehicle? Better visibility during foggy / raining conditions, night time driving ? Just curious.... Thanks
  4. Yes, I was third owner, original owner was a farmer in Oxford NC, he sold it to my friend, also in Oxford with 9000 miles at the time. Then I purchases it from the second owner a few years ago, I think it had 12,000 or 14,000 miles on it Yes Glenn, that's the one from Oxford N.C.....my friend has it now in Ohio.... ( he's going to be painting my '69 SS Impala in a year or so.....)
  5. My '69 Chevrolet Bel Air, 6 cylinder with "three on the tree"....great car, I sold it to a friend so I could make room in my garage for my truck. My friend loves it, keeping the drive train as is, but plans on repainting it. You just don't see these 6 cylinder, full size cars anymore... Steve
  6. Reminds me of a old toy I had.......
  7. LOL....my buddies said the same thing when I purchase it years ago....5000 miles, all original and the cost of it, I could not resist it, plus my Dad had one as well, lost him a few years earlier, so it was sentimental .....for my SS Impala, I've already have the 15" steel rims with NOS poverty caps, will paint the rims the body color and probably put black walls on that ( that will look perfect for that car ! ) Steve
  8. Yeah, for that year Vette, the vintage white letter would look great..... that's what I did for my Monte Carlo SS, white letter - plus, that's how it came from the factory as well.
  9. This one has the 327/235HP with the 2-barrel, it has the turbo350 trans........ my SS has the 427/390HP with the 4-barrel, turbo400 trans... I can't wait to get the 427 on the road ! Steve
  10. Glenn, I have two '69 Impalas..... 327 which is picture above and I'm restoring a 427 SS Impala - both Frost Green cars
  11. It's funny that you mention that George....when I purchased the car 20 years ago, my friends that were driving '69 BB Camaros said the same thing, " why did you buy a grandpa car" lol...now that they are in their seventies, they like it now !
  12. Glenn - I recall seeing those mag covers, but not the other ones you posted....
  13. The Red Lines on my original '69 Impala need to be replaced soon and the Rallys were on the vehicle when I purchase it in 2004. I've been looking at the optional hub caps for 15" wheels for model year 1968 and 1969 and I purchase a decent set off of Ebay. So I'm looking for opinions, if I go with the hub caps, do I switch to a white wall or keep the red lines or go with black walls ? First picture is current status, but I'll attach some vintage advertisements from 1969. As a side note, the hub caps attach really easy, just remove the trim ring and derby cap.
  14. Show winner right there Chris ! EXCELLENT WORK !!! Steve
  15. Same here Glenn....I'm into GM, but I would take that in a second ! Steve
  16. I use to watch and enjoy Shadetree Mechanic on the old TNN network years ago....
  17. We grew up on a hill with a steep driveway as well. I remember an incident where my grandparents almost flipped their 1962 Chevy II in our driveway. They were in their mid eighties at the time and Grandpa could not really look over his shoulder that well while backing up, so he depended on the driver's side door mirror. As you descend from the garage and start going down the driveway, the lawn is no longer flush with the driveway, so as you get to the bottom of the driveway, the lawn is actually 3 to 4 feet above the driveway. Well, one day while Grandpa and Grandma were leaving, my mother, brother and myself were waving good-by, Grandpa started to drift onto the lawn, next thing, my mother is screaming at them to stop. They stopped just in time....if you could picture a tan 2-door Chevy II with two little Grandparents on a 45 degree angle, it was a sight to see ( reminded me of Joie Chitwood Dare Devils ) My Mom is 88 years old and still lives in the house, I remember that incident every time I visit her! Here is a picture of my 1974 AMC, noticed the log of wood under the rear passenger side tire....🙂
  18. Very cool !! And that's coming from a GM guy ! Steve
  19. Looks like the same shade of green like mine...( Frost Green )
  20. Did your Father influence the type of classic antiques that you own today ?
