  1. I participated in the Concours back in 2010 when it was held at Stratton Mountain, Vermont. The wife and kids had a great time shopping in the village and taking the snow lift rides on the ski slopes for the views. I was not there when the judging team came around to judge my car, but was surprise to find out that I came in second place in the Preservation Class. Steve
  2. Ted, I was thinking along those same lines a few years ago.....I got done restoring my Black '69 Impala ( 14 year process ) and for my 50th birthday, I was going to get a new Dodge Challenger....nope. I ended up getting the "69 Super Sport. It must be some kind of sickness within a person to go thru this process again....lol Steve
  3. I thought it was a joke, I guess not........ ( and sold out )
  4. Looks great Chris.....sorry to hear about those little mishaps that you have to deal with.... Steve
  5. Any mention on who the new owner is ? Steve
  6. Here is a picture of my 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS that was taken in front of the Chevrolet Dealership in Rhinebeck, NY where I purchased it new off the show room floor. The dealership closed about 11 or 12 years ago... I still have the car. Steve
  7. Makes me wonder if McQueen's son has any interest in the Mustang ? 🤔
  8. I always liked the Charger in the movie... I was too young to see it when it first came out, but watched it a few years later when it was on local tv. My parents got me a Kingsize Matchbox toy of a Charger, which I destroyed ( what a normal 5 year would do ). I replaced it a few years ago.
  9. John - do you or anyone know if the Charger used for the street scenes restored & sold ? Thanks !
  10. Bill Hickman also did the stunt driving in the 1973 film " The Seven-Ups. You can see some of the similarities.... also, I recognized some of the chase locations: Taconic State Parkway and the Palisades Interstate Parkway here in NY.
  11. I drove a '74 Javelin in High School, I think I paid $800 for it....304 V8 with a three speed stick on the floor. What a cool car to have and drive ! Steve
  12. I encourage everyone here on the AACA Forum to take some time out of your day and watch these fine programs that Walt and John do ! I've watched just about everyone of them - excellent !! And the road test.... absolutely beautiful vehicles !! Steve
  13. Very cool truck! Nice project for you John. Steve
  14. I like the "sleeper" looks..... a member of the National Impala Association restored one of these beast years ago... purchased parts from him and told him if he was ever going to sell, to let me know... I got tired of waiting, so I got my '69 SS427 that I'm restoring now.... guess what, it's for sale now....lol oh well, it's a beauty ! Steve
  15. I purchased this dirt bike new in 1979, rode it for two summers then it went into storage at my parents home in 1981. I retrieved it last year and had it service - runs great. very low mileage, probably under 300 miles or less. Never damage or dropped. Asking $2000.00 Thanks
  16. Good eyes ! I would have not guess...looks like a '59 Impala behind the Franklin. Steve
  17. Dad had a Ford Crestline, Chrysler Saratoga, Karmann Ghia and a Corvair, but he made the mistake of taking me and my brother to the Chevrolet Dealership in the fall of 1969. The new '70 models were parked out in front of the dealership and the left over '69's were in the back lot. Mom and Dad picked out a '69 Impala Sport Sedan and I was hooked. I've had four over the years.....I currently have two, original 327 Impala and a SS427 Impala that I'm restoring now. I restore a Custom Coupe years ago and painted it black. I did have a 1974 AMC Javelin during High School... very cool car and fast ! ( did some street racing with that one ) Steve
