  1. I'll keep you guys posted.... I work a 12hr over night schedule, my rotation will be done Wednesday morning, so I'll look into it again Wednesday afternoon..... Thanks for all the input ! Steve
  2. Thanks for your input Robin
  3. Joe - just checked the horn, brake lights and headlights.... all work. Just strange... after 35 years of ownership, never had this happen... Thanks
  4. Exactly. Nothing on the dash regarding idiot lights / gauge movement....It's a HO 305 V8 with the automatic transmission... it's a low mileage car that's been covered and stored correctly since I purchased it back in 1986. I'll check the wiring tomorrow before heading off to work if I have time. Thanks !
  5. I'm not sure if I'm having a battery issue or if there is something else with the charging system on my '86 Monte Carlo. I normally get six years or so on a new battery ( AC Delco ), last April, I replace it. During the winter months / storage , I remove the battery cables...when I'm ready to start it, I'll hook up the cables and place the Battery Tender on it. Once I have the steady green light on the Battery Tender, the car would always start right up - but not this time. So I hooked up my old Diehard Battery charger, switch it over to the 50amp starter mode.... nothing. I switched the mode over the 10amp and let the battery sit for the day and let it charge...still nothing. The under hood light comes on, interior lights come on... is there something else that I should be looking at? Thanks
  6. Yup... very common color for model year 1969. All three of mine '69 Chevrolet's are Frost Green. Steve ( Frost King 🙂 )
  7. Walt - I 100% agree ! Been reading it the past few nights, very impressive ! Steve
  8. A new magazine just hit the market and I wanted to share with the membership. CRANKSHAFT is a quarterly journal of fascinating automobiles brought to you by Richard Lentinello, Hemmings Motor News fame. I just received my first copy in the mail yesterday, and if you like Hemmings Classic Car Magazine, you will love this new magazine and it's format. It covers all topics relating the the automotive world... Check it out !! www.crankshaftmagazine.com Thanks Steve
  9. Looks great Ted, I really like the color ! Steve
  10. I like it !! It reminds me of my 327 Impala that I restored years ago....... Craig, do you know the owner ? Steve
  11. Great stories ! I should of added some pictures in my first post....I still have them except for the White Sport Sedan ( parents ) and the Black Impala that I restored years ago which was sold to purchase the SS427. I now find myself looking at convertibles..😉
  12. Frank, your correct... this was a small Dealership and the new '70 models were parked out in front near the roadway. The '69 that my Mother picked out was parked all the way in the back of the lot - very dirty ! She told the salesman to wash it and we'll take ! Steve
  13. It might sound crazy, but when I start up any of my old Impalas, the sound of that engine running, brings me back to my parents garage.....best part was once Dad was done working on the engine, we would go for a test ride! Great times ! Steve
  14. My father has been gone now just over 20 years ( 2-3-31 to 12-25-00 ). He was a huge influence in my life when it came to playing sports and motor vehicles. As a young kid, it was my job to hold the drop light as he went along and did a tune-up on the family sedan, he would explain everything to me as he went along. When my parents went to the local Chevrolet Dealership back in the fall of 1969, they took me along and I remember to this day my Mom picking out the Dover White Impala Sport Sedan ! He probably didn't realized it, but he "planted the seed" into a four year old to where I am today with my enjoyment of the hobby and with that model year vehicle. I guess it could of been a Mopar or Ford, Olds etc. but for some reason, he went with Chevrolet. How many of you have been influence by the brand that your parents purchased when you were a child to the point that you find yourself today collecting that brand ? Oh, my Mom kept the paperwork on that Chevrolet that they purchased back in 1969 - Steve
  15. I guess that the "m" is to represent a electrical plug....😃
  16. I found this on the internet..... General Motors is working to remake its public image with a new logo, a new company-wide marketing campaign and a new website as it shifts from a company that makes largely internal combustion vehicles to offering mostly all-electric vehicles over the next decade. On Friday, GM said starting Monday it will debut the campaign to promote mass adoption of EVs called “Everybody In.” The company will replace its familiar blue square logo and will launch a new GM.com website to share the latest information about work in electrification and self-driving cars.
  17. A little update... installed the weather stripping between the hood and cowl and realized that there is a separate piece on the passenger side that completes the seal between the hood and cowl that slips under the fender. I confirmed this with my other '69 Impala that I really didn't pay attention to before. Long story short, they are not available in the aftermarket ....my friend that carries NOS parts, no longer has them. My other friend from North Carolina restored a SS427 years ago and ran into the same problem. He made a mold of an original one and made a bunch of copies ! So I was able to get this piece of weather stripping from my friend, the only difference is that my original attachment clips won't work since this new mold is slightly thicker than the original one, so a made new, larger attachment clips - see photos. Guys - Have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year ! Steve ** The last picture shows my other '69 with the weather stripping mounted**
