  3. That looks very similar to the one I had as a kid back in the late sixties......me and my brother was sharing a new fire engine pedal car and my grandfather picked that one up somewhere... it was old back then ! Maybe mid to late forties ?? Steve
  4. Just wanted to do a follow up with the brake issue from last Fall... I ended up sending the Master Cylinder out to "Brake and Equipment" , they did an excellent job with the rebuild... I bench bleed the unit and installed it yesterday on the Impala... all went well. Hopefully tomorrow if one of my boys will help me out, I'll start bleeding out all the brake lines. Update to follow...... Thanks again guys ! Steve

  10. We had an issue with a neighbor a few years ago, but it pertain to speeding. We live on a cul de sac road with a speed limit of 30 mph, the neighbor lived two houses down and drove a BMW sports car. By the time he would pass my house, he had that car going well over 60 mph. After a few passes, I decided to introduce myself and explain to him that I have four children and there are other children that live on this street and very nicely asked if he could slow down. I got the " yes I well " reply. It continued.... I called the local / county police department, they came out and told me that they could not do anything unless they catch him in the act. What ?? It continues..... My next call went to the NY State Police, the Trooper came to my home, I explain the situation. The Trooper told me that he will take care of the situation right now..... he drove down to the neighbor and spoke to him...... case closed ! We have not had any issues with speeding on our street now for 6 or 7 years..... and the guy actually waves at me if I'm out in the yard doing work ! LOL Steve
  11. John, once this virus let's up, I plan on making a trip down to Long Island with the Chevrolet ! Steve
  12. By painting the deck lid, would this effect HPOF judging or should it be left alone ? Thanks
  13. Just recently purchased this low mileage Chevrolet from a friend of mine. 1969 Bel Air, all original with 13,000 miles. It has the six-cylinder engine with the three-speed on the column. He purchased it from the original owner in 2009 with 9,000 miles on it - the original owner (a retired farmer) is still alive and well at age 92. The vehicle was driven to church on Sundays – no joking! Here are some pictures that my friend share to me, I'll post some more once it's delivered in a few weeks. Steve
  14. Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it ! The Transporter has been booked. Steve
  15. I'll make sure to post some pictures once I have it in my driveway ! Steve
  16. Hey Martin..... it's a 1969 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan.... all original.... with just 13,000 miles. It has the 250 6 cylinder with a three speed on the column. Oh, it's Frost Green like my others. Steve
  17. I'm looking for recommendations from the members here for a transporter (closed) to pick up a vehicle that I just purchased in NC and deliver to NY. Thanks Steve
  18. GM advertisement of a 1969 Caprice with the caps...
  19. I just purchase these caps for my '69 Impala. I've had the Rallys on the car since I purchase it back in 2004 and I thought I would change it up. They are in really nice shape, but there is some minor scratches and the black painted sections are faded. Any suggestions of a company that can restore them back ? Thanks !
  20. Thanks for the story ! A few years after I got my driver's licence, Dad retired the old '69 Impala ( you can see it in this picture with the plates off ) .... and I purchased a '74 AMC Javelin... I played around in the driveway as well, getting use to the 3 speed stick shift. That came to an end as well, Dad was concern that I might miss a shift and go thru the garage and hit Mom's pride and joy - '77 Mercury Cougar XR7.... lol Steve
  21. Just received my copy in the mail today..... Great picture of your car Ted ! Steve
