  1. Thanks, it sold today..... sold thru Hemmings..... had bad experience with ebay, the number of scammers was unbelievable !
  2. Thanks for all the advise / suggestions.... I did try to polish it by hand with "Mother's", it made it clean, but the fine scratches are still there where the wiper blades had made contact. Since I don't want to damage the part or myself, I'll look for a professional locally. Steve
  3. I'm trying to polish out 50 years of fine scratches on the bottom chrome windshield molding of my '69 Impala. Over the years, the wiper blades have left their marks on the chrome - any suggestions on a good product to use for this type of chrome ? Thanks ! Steve
  4. A thread from a few months ago.... https://forums.aaca.org/topic/324234-gas-tank-sealer/?tab=comments#comment-1858573
  5. I'm going thru this right now..... listed my truck here on the AACA site... no issues, as soon as I listed on CL and Ebay, the scammers are coming out of the woodwork... it's awful... I'm tired of it ! Steve
  6. Decided to sell my 1969 Chevrolet 3/4 ton fleet side pickup truck . Beautiful truck that I had shipped from Washington State to my home here in New York two years ago. I figure I list it here first before going the ebay route... my reason for selling is to help finish my five year '69 SS restoration project. This is an original truck that was repainted it's original Olive Green and White by the prior owner ( I'm the third owner ) This truck was not used as a "worked" truck, but used as a camper out in Spokane, Wa. The engine is the 350/255HP with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The rear end is a Eaton Detroit Locker with 4.10 gears, 2 wheel drive. The following work was done over the past 2 years: - New custom dual exhaust system - New brake hoses - Axle seal - Starter - Trans filter kit / modulator - Rear end gasket / fluid - 4 barrel Rochester Carburetor rebuilt - Drive Shaft Bearing - Hoses, belts, oil, anti-freeze flush - Valve cover gaskets ** All work done professionally with receipts. The interior is all original , except for the radio and rubber floor mat. Items that have not been done: - Bench seat has a small tear on the driver's side - Steering wheel has a crack - Heater blower not working, most likely a fuse The truck has just over 88,000 miles.... drives great ! Inspections welcome.... Asking $17,000 or best offer.... please message me here on the forum. Thanks *** trying to upload photos...
  7. I just saw / open the email today....unfortunately, the deadline to fill out the form was midnight last night. Looks like the email went out Friday, but since I worked this past weekend, I'm just getting to my mail now. Wish the window to reply was longer..... The search continues..... Steve
  8. Steve - would this apply to a NOS part that I've been searching for the past few years ? Passenger door molding Thanks
  9. Good question.... my '69 C20 has a steel bed, did it make a difference if it was a 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton option to have the wood or not ? Beautiful truck George ! Steve
  10. Thanks for the input.... I'm leaning towards trying to keep the original tank on the car.... solid car overall, but I'll know more once the tank is removed... Steve
  11. I'm getting ready to pull the gas tank off of my '69 Impala SS, just curious of the type of tank sealer that the membership has used with good results. I was told that it would be a good idea to have the tank "boil" at a radiator shop prior to sealing it.... Any suggestion / input is appreciated, first time doing this.... Thanks !
  12. Parts for my 1969 Chevrolet Impala SS that I'm restoring....I also started looking on those Facebook groups as well.... Steve
  13. Other than ebay or craigslist, what other web sites do the membership use for searching for vintage used or NOS parts from ? Thanks
