greenie
Rescued from the Macungie truck show today. Any ideas? Red lenses? Part number looks like 920248. Thanks! Edited June 17, 2023 by greenie (see edit history)
nzcarnerd
Similar style to those used on late 1930s Chevs but they could be aftermarket?
sagefinds
I never saw red lenses in fender lights, that would be illegal in most states unless they were on a police car, ambulance, something like that. Maybe 39 Chevy.

keiser31
They sure look like Buick 1936-39 items.... Edited June 17, 2023 by keiser31 (see edit history)
MCHinson
They do look like the aftermarket fender lights that @keiser31 posted that are marketed to replace the similar looking originals for Buicks of the late 30s, but I have never seen any with red lenses. The only ideas that I would have would be the red lenses could have been designed for clearance lights or emergency vehicle lights. In any case, they appear to be aftermarket items to me.
keiser31
Are the lenses actually red or are the insides of them painted?
greenie
They are red all the way thru. It seems most likely they are (were) clearance lights on the cab of a big truck. The seller had loads of Mack truck parts.
drwatson
The photo is from a 1939 Chevrolet Accessory booklet. P/N 920248 came close in a 1948 edition Chev parts book. "920249" is listed as "Lens" "Spl Equipment" 1-13/16" O.D., 1-7/8" Long. I think the lights are Chev accessories with the "special" lenses. btw, Chev offered them for 37 - 39, maybe other GM's too. 4

TAKerry
Red marker lights go the back, yellow up front. But I would suspect cab lights off a firetruck?
