With my brother and my parents, we went on a Saturday evening to eat in an American restaurant, a diner , and we went there with the Buick . And my parents told me I could drive the Buick if I wanted, and so I drove! . This Buick is awesome, I love it. It drives very well, very pleasant, powerful too! These two friends live not far away and the two Buicks were taken to our region. Our friend who bought the 1941 Buick fell in love with this car and that's why he bought it, but he didn't have the space to put it in his garage. He wanted to build a new garage for this Buick but he couldn't. Then we went to see our friend and he showed us the 1941 Buick, and my parents also fell in love with this car and they bought it. And there are two Buicks next to each other , in the same region. The grille is not original, it is equipment that they sold at the time for the Peugeot 203 and many people equipped their 203 with this grille. It is not uncommon to see Peugeot 203s with this grille even today . Thank you for my Dodge :), yes the siren and flashing lights work , and a lot of people like this car and take photos with the Dodge . I do a lot of car shows with my Dodge, since July I have been going to car shows with the Dodge every Sunday until November! , and now the season ends with the arrival of winter, and in winter we do car repairs . I'm even going to do errands at the store with the Dodge, and a lot of people want to take pictures inside the Dodge, and I can't get into the store right away Once I got stopped by the police, they stopped me because they wanted to see the Dodge and take pictures! And I took pictures of my police Dodge next to their police car ! (it was a Peugeot police truck ) And when I come across police cars on the road, they laugh :). And once a policewoman said “woww so good !” My 1978 Dodge Monaco police There was also this very beautiful Chevrolet and Cobra There was also this Peugeot 403 “compressor”. Since December I have been working on my Buick 69, Buick 41 and my Dodge 78. And the dodge took me a lot of time to work on. So here are the photos of the work on the 1941 Buick Between the end of the year and the beginning of the year my parents wanted to re-chrome the grille with the additional headlight/Oscar at the front. So dismantling the grille, and it looks weird, a good piece is missing ! The grille is in three parts Then dismantle the headlights, they appear clean but it is on the lower part and inside that you need to look. For registration plates, French law says (indicates) the lettering/writing that the plate must contain (letter/number with dashes), but the law does not specify the design and format of the plate. So are we in regulation? yes and no, it depends on the police but it is very rare to be arrested by the police for this. In the vast majority the police are nicer to classic cars and say nothing. I had a problem with the tank of my Dodge, I had bought a new gas cap but this new cap did not vent. And when I was driving and the pump sucked in fuel, the tank deformed, then when I removed the fuel cap I heard a "shhhhtt" and the tank inflated and took its original shape. I didn't realize it, and by deforming it, the tank was bent and pierced. So I dismantled the tank, cleaned it completely, then repaired the tank by welding. And then I applied two coats of colorless bodywork varnish to protect the tank. As the tank was dismantled, I took the opportunity to strip, clean and paint the floor under the car, from the rear bumper to the floor under the rear seat. I also stripped the rear axle and did the oil change. And I then applied “hollow body wax” (that’s what it’s called in France) in the crossmembers of the floor and chassis. My brother helped me, and to strip the floor and paint it, it took me 5 weekends with my brother. And at the beginning of the year I changed the steering box on my Dodge, I bought a used one and normally it was in very good condition. And when we put it together and I tried it, the steering box is actually in poor condition and there is a lot of play in the steering . The upper bearing of the box axle is out of order I think. For the moment I drive with this steering box but in the future it will be necessary to change or repair the box . here are photos to summarize the work on the Dodge disassembly of the tank the floor is very dirty and very greasy cleaning the tank with thinner Here is the tank leak stripping, degreasing the floor with the help of my brother It's starting to feel good at the same time, draining the rear axle sanding of a few parts stripping the rear axle and painting the axle housing, and painting the floor under the car and the rear axle oil filling application of varnish on the tank straps, you can see the original references which differ for the right and left side tank repair application of a colorless bodywork varnish to the tank application of wax for hollow bodies Reassembly of the tank, the tank still shows traces of deformation but it no longer leaks and cleaning the Dodge!!
