1941 Buick Eight Special serie 40 type 46S

Sebastien, I don't know if Bo's requires a core exchange. You may want to check with them. I just ordered a clutch for my 42 Special. They told me they only have the "replacement" style available, which does not require a core.

That Shop Manual will become your best friend. I add notes in the manual whenever I am working on the car for reference.

What do you think ? I think the first is the right one, but the price is high for a belt, isn't it ?

You will have to send your old core back to them, or just pay the $50 charge.  The only other thing I think you might consider is a new throwout bearing.

Hello, I wanted to order the parts for the clutch and they are out of stock.

Is this second model for sale the right one too? because this one is available.

Maybe someone else on the forum like @Ben Bruce aka First Born will know the modern application that is referenced above.  I believe it is a Jeep clutch set, but I don't know which year and model to buy.

 1995 Jeep Cherokee.

Hello and thank you for your answer .
The kit at $285 sounds good to me, and if it's really the right model I'd like to order this one.

But before I would like to know if there is a difference between the one at $285, the second model available at Bob's automobilia and the photo you put on your second message ?
Thank you for your help :)

is a 1941 Buick clutch the same as a 1995 Jeep ?

The "waffle clutch" used in some series 40 Buicks has a reputation for being unreliable. I have been hearing stories of people using a much newer Jeep clutch as a replacement to get rid of the "waffle clutch". By some coincidence it fits. I have not done this myself, so I don't know which Jeep. @Ben Bruce aka First Born said 1995 Cherokee, and he would know.

I believe Bloo means the "waffle" pressure plate.

The clutch plate appears to be the same as Buick.  The both work well in my 1950.

  The one I used came from O'REILLY,   Power Torque  .   K 1890-05.

I installed this on the hopped up 263 .  It will spin the tires.  Been in there about 20,000 miles.

Hello, ok thanks for the information :) .
To be sure to have the right model, my parents preferred to order the kit at $285 for a 1941 Buick.
We also ordered a pair of wipers, the accessory belt (alternator, water pump, etc.) and a pair of rods for the rear stabilizer bar :)

Hello everyone, here is some news about my parents' Buick :)
And here are photos from last month until today :)
With my brother and my parents, we went on a Saturday evening to eat in an American restaurant, a diner :) , and we went there with the Buick :) .
And my parents told me I could drive the Buick if I wanted, and so I drove! :) . This Buick is awesome, I love it. It drives very well, very pleasant, powerful too! :)
Here are photos of nights when we arrive and when we leave the restaurant :)

Then two weekends ago, with my brother and my parents we went to a vintage car exhibition at the Castle  " ( chateau ) de la baronie "  in Lafrançaise, a town near where I live.
And we went there with my Dodge and with my parents' Buick :)

Then a photo of these two friends, who found it :) .

Yes, they are found again, because they are two Buicks with the same history, they both come from the same museum ! :)

For the record, our friend went with a friend to see the cars for sale at the museum that I explained at the beginning.
These two friends went to the museum and they loved these cars, and one bought the 1941 Buick, and the other friend bought the 1929 Buick.
These two friends live not far away and the two Buicks were taken to our region.
Our friend who bought the 1941 Buick fell in love with this car and that's why he bought it, but he didn't have the space to put it in his garage. He wanted to build a new garage for this Buick but he couldn't.
Then we went to see our friend and he showed us the 1941 Buick, and my parents also fell in love with this car and they bought it.
And there are two Buicks next to each other :)  , in the same region.
And this 1929 Buick also had some repairs to do to get it back on the road all this time in the museum :)

Hi Sebastien:

What is that convertible next to your Dodge?  Is it a Peugeot?  The grill has a definite Buick look to it with all those teeth!

I really get a kick out of seeing your baby blue Police Edition Dodge in these French settings!  Are the siren and roof lights operative?  I can't help but think about what a start you could give another driver by coming up behind him with the lights flashing (but I suspect that could get you into a bit of trouble with the local Gendarmerie)!

Thanks for posting all these photos.  I love the two Buicks together.

Hello and thank you very much for your response! :)
The car next to my Dodge is a Peugeot 203 convertible. The grille is not original, it is equipment that they sold at the time for the Peugeot 203 and many people equipped their 203 with this grille.
It is not uncommon to see Peugeot 203s with this grille even today ;)

Thank you for my Dodge :), yes the siren and flashing lights work :) , and a lot of people like this car and take photos with the Dodge  :)
I do a lot of car shows with my Dodge, since July I have been going to car shows with the Dodge every Sunday until November! , and now the season ends with the arrival of winter, and in winter we do car repairs :)
I'm even going to do errands at the store with the Dodge, and a lot of people want to take pictures inside the Dodge, and I can't get into the store right away :D

Once I got stopped by the police, they stopped me because they wanted to see the Dodge and take pictures! And I took pictures of my police Dodge next to their police car ! (it was a Peugeot police truck :)
And when I come across police cars on the road, they laugh :). And once a policewoman said “woww so good !” :)

My 1978 Dodge Monaco police :)

There was also this Peugeot 403 “compressor”.
Compressor because this 403 is equipped with a compressor, at the time you could modify your car by putting a compressor on it to make it more powerful :)
