Especially the small time guys. Online bidding is no different. Bidding in a crowd is worse where some bidders want to show off " I have more money than you" especially if his girlfriend is around . It is a psychological game to some extent. Auctioneers have sleepers in the crowd to do that. mercer09 Posted October 26, 2019 Author Share Posted October 26, 2019 well Ive seen this happen 2x on ebay and the shock factor was wowzer! once a crapped out 58 porsche speedster hit a crazy number and only the vin tag and title were useable and the 2nd time was when a fella bought a house and there was an early 60s body in the garage-no motor. chrysler product. it ended up being one of the lost 10 that was built by the factory for the drag strip. plexi windows etc. the owner had no idea and the bidders prompted him with what to look for. it went for over 500k........................................ he more then got a free house. We are talking # 3 or better cars with nice paint chrome and correct interiors. 52G. Will buy you a very , very nice car. Probably a near perfect frame off restored car. Even some nice convertibles can be had around 50 with some looking. I think i have even seen fuel injected cars in super nice restored condition for 100G or less.
