My grandmother Maud (Shagley) Shipman was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. We can trace our lineage back to John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court appointed by President George Washington.

On Sunday (7/9/23), I attended the Endicott Estate annual car show in Dedham, MA with members of my BCA Minuteman Chapter. We had 16 Buicks participate. This car show attracts at least 1500 cars of all makes and models. To my left is a '34 Model 60, and to my right is a '56 4 door hardtop. -
Quite a few of my Shipman relatives immigrated from Wales to Nebraska....Red Cloud area, just north of eastern Kansas.

Galena, IL was the site for our 2008 Riviera Owners Assoc National meet. Seemed to be very peaceful and quiet country around there. I'm enjoying your journey, keep the reports coming in. Stay safe.

Best not to get "testy" when dedicated people here are trying to understand and help you.

John, you should start your own thread of your trip.... something like "New York Road Warrior, Spokane".

Making The Case to Collect a Last Generation Park Ave
dship replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick - General
I know that's not very many compared to many other Buick owners. But over time I've owned four Rivieras and two Reattas with the 3800 V6 engine. The only other Buick I owned was an '85 Riviera with the anemic 307 ci Old's engine. -
Hood not closing evenly on passenger side by windshield
dship replied to ReattaPDX's topic in Buick Reatta
I believe its skinny rod up for the hood, and skinny rod down for the trunk. -
Hood not closing evenly on passenger side by windshield
dship replied to ReattaPDX's topic in Buick Reatta
I'd pull the gas lifts off and see if the hood lays flat. If so, then your problem would seem to be old lifts that need to be replaced. -
I have a very funny feeling that by the time you finish this project, your wife will only want to drive the Reatta!

Period images to relieve some of the stress

The last Benny's Hardware store in MA (Rte. 44 Raynham/Taunton) closed about 5 or 6 years ago. They had a bunch of branches throughout RI and MA, and good stuff cheap! -
If they were mine, I'd wire brush them down, re-gap them, re-use them.

Or "spinoffs" like Hawaiian Eye and Surf Side 6. How about Adventures in Paradice? I watched them all. -
I attended that meet. Weather was perfect until show day...rainy and raw that day!

For Sale: 1991 Black and Flame Red Coupe 56,200 miles $5,300
dship replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick Reatta
Barney, what color is the pin stripe on your black '91? And do you know how many flame red interiors were produced in '91 (minus the Select Sixties)? -
IMO I'd go with the black cherry and silver.

I agree with EmTee, along with checking motor and tranny mounts.
