  1. Packard Speedster- 1930 734? or 1931 834? Interesting - fender parking light on right fender, but not on left? I'm impressed
  2. We always enjoyed, and drove the heck out of our 1914 B-37 Touring- now residing in Texas with another FORUM member
  3. Keep it cleen until I can drive
  4. Nice '56 Riviera, behind the Olds 88 Holiday, and the red Alfa-Romeo at the curb is just like one I used to race, behind a cool '54 Merc (mine was a black '54 convertible I drove thru the summer of '61 while playing trumpet with a band at a resort hotel in the Catskills)- Great memories of Nathan's on Surf Ave at Stillwell Ave in Brooklyn- Stopped there prior to Hershey, 2019 - slightly out of the way from New Orleans, but worth the visit, and followed by a short stroll on the Boardwalk - Grandparents and Dad's sister used to take me to Brighton Baths back during, and following WWII years, into the 1950s
  5. Welcome to the Hudson family. The more you drive your wasp, the more you'll appreciate all Hudson models - and all Hudson years, as well. Our 1915 SIX-40 is a joy to drive, and we've toured extensively. Enjoy the new girl, and please let us know your progress.
  6. Many years ago I tried a different approach: a pair of 6 volt Optima batteries linked in Series and charged by a single wire 12 Volt Alternator with internal regulator- The A/C and Power port were fed by the (non-ground) 12Volt part, But I took a 000 cable from the terminal between the two batteries where 6 Volt was the available current to run the entire car, other than the A/C and "modern" accessories. That way, the car retained most of the originality and ran as a 6-Volt vehicle, but the A/C ran as 12-Volt, and the port was able to support a modern radio, GPS, radar detector, cell phone and other accessory chargers, etc. It was easily reversable if ever needed.
  7. Chrysler's 1950s "HI-WAY HI-FI" played at (i recall?) 16-2/3 rpm, or a half of the LP rate of 33-1/3
  8. Saw the same thing done with a Metropolitan years ago at Pate Swap Meet in Texas- Cool !
  9. EP 80-90 or EP 80-140 should handle just about anything you will encounter (PS: If anyone suggests K-Y lube, they're on the wrong forum)
  10. As mentioned in another post, this fantastic car lives in a private collection a few blocks from my home- Despite frequent viewing, as well as my offers to, at no charge, polish every accessory, the rear-facing curvaceous ornament has regrettably not been present
  11. Hi all, I hope to be there, but have hernia surgery one week prior, so the trip will depend on recovery, and having a friend do most of the driving
  12. Another great issue, and a great article by Mr. Earl about one of my favorite drives,"Tail of the Dragon"
  13. I have also seen Steve's beautiful truck and agree with his observations. I spoke with Steve during his restoration about a few matters - especially relating to tires, and respect the path he chose. Congratulations to Steve on not only the recognition, but having done it right and done it exceptionally well !
  14. Used the Brillo Pads going back to the 1950s, Old radio/TV commercials: "With Soap, It's Loaded !"
  15. Sorry to know he was seriously injured in a "Loaner" vehicle yesterday. News stated he was running late for an appointment with Drew Breese- hate to think he might have been driving too fast for conditions, leading to the single car wreck, and hope for a full and speedy recovery.
  16. Elpad, thank you, They are stored on my iphone, and are right side up in my phone's picture file. I can rotate on the phone if needed, but as noted, they are ok on the phone. Some come out sideways when I add them to my FORUM post. Any thoughts?
  17. Typically, there would not be enough amperage with this set-up to jump start, but given enough time you might be able to use this as a trickle charge
  18. Yes, this is essentially what I described, above
  19. I RECORD MOST MOVIES- Playback at slow speed allows me to examine in detail, who were the Picture Car Coordinators examining the music, some of the lesser known actors, etc
  20. The DUAL TRIM STRIPS, lack of trailing support separating the wind wing from the driver's window, overall shape, and no running board, along with rubber shield on leading edge of rear fender, tend to make this a 1941 Studebaker Champion
  21. Looks like a scene from just south of Richmond, Virginia
  22. Sweet almost new '59 convertible, with pict taken as the car was wearing a 1960 Virginia license plate. If we could have seen the front, we would also know which county.
  23. I found this Budweiser collectible Buick Roadmaster beer mug while on a VMCCA Convertible Tops Down Car Tour in Wisconsin many years ago. The tour was based in Rockford, IL, but travelled to a Wisconsin city steeped in Swiss history where I actually entertained our lunch crowd, using an Alpine horn, first performing “Amazing Grace”, and then playing “When the Saints Go Marching In”, as well as the tune from the Budweiser commercial featuring the Dalmatian and the Clydesdale horses pulling the Budweiser wagon. Can someone please turn these photos right-side up? maybe also explain to me how to do that?
