  1. My Studebaker chapter used to invite people to sit behind the wheel of their cars. I had a Wagonaire with the opening rear roof, and urged kids to pose for pictures for their parents standing in the back of the wagon with their heads above the roofline. Gotta stir up interest, and keep it fun!
  2. One of those little Jeeps the Post Office used the 60's.
  3. Collection? More like speedster project for sale.
  4. Hey - you sold it. You don't get a say in what happens next.
  5. Many Studebaker Drivers Club members use Bounce dryer sheets scattered around and tucked into holes to keep the mice away. I did it for years over the winter for my Studebakers. Never a mice problem - ever. Under the hood, in the interior and trunk, and in the exhaust pipe. I even scattered them around the garage wherever mice might hide.
  6. YE GODS!!!!!!!!!! Stupidity knows no limits.
  7. Jack Irving designed the "Sunbeam Slug" for Henry Segrave. It was the first land speed racer timed over 200 MPH, at Daytona Beach on March 29th, 1927.
  8. Just a guess.... 1948 Studebaker?
  9. Do you think the car gives a crap if the tool is vintage or spanking new? No - of course not.
  10. Oh, dear god! That thing again. I first looked at this monstrosity nearly 20 years ago. It's been on American Pickers. Multiple magazines and websites have done features on it, trying to find any real history on the beast. In 20 years, there has been no proof, zip, nada, nothing but conjecture and BS. Lots of speed historians have tried to confirm how it came to exist. There is nothing. This is someone's pipe dream that went up in smoke before it turned a tire in anger.
  11. I don't often agree with Pete, but on this subject - he's right. Buyer beware.
  12. An old T-shirt or bath towel would work better and be more appropriate.
  13. I remember seeing a GM film "Bright Star" about the Vega my sophomore year in Auto Information.... circa 1972? They showed how the cars were shipped via rail. Studebaker used to ship in rail cars, but stood on their rear bumpers.
  14. There are members of the Studebaker Drivers Club who drive 50 bulletnoses and other classic Studebakers as daily drivers.
