  1. Rear windshield for a skiff………?
  2. October……..👍
  3. The. Ame of this thread should be changed to - Hershey is Great!
  4. OK- I will complain about one issue…….the food vendors seemed diminished. Less choice, longer lines, none in the middle of the fields. Since I’m on a diet since Pebble (down 20) and have more to go I did almost no on the field food purchases.
  5. Since I started in 1971……….I shall opine: Hershey has always been evolving. I expect it will continue to do so. You can point to a dozen variables that affect it each year…….. Pennsylvania weather- cold, rain, wind Hurricane threats- before, during, after. Like this year where many couldn’t get out from Ian. On line & Ebay- just the modern world changing things. Age of membership as it applies to pre war cars. Costs- Time off, hotels, fuel, food, it’s VERY expensive to vend as a parts business. Mobility issues of older members…… Covid broke the routine of “every year” attendance and many took it as an excuse to give it up. You can probably list six more……… Were things different this year? Yes………we’re the changes more obvious than normal? Yes. Were there more empty spaces, and spaces used for parking than in the past, yes. Did I actually not walk some rows due to empty/no vendors……YES. A first for me. Did I see it all? Yes, but it only took two days of moderate pounding instead of three and a half of flat out pushing. Too much tag sale junk! I will be back next year. Found a few trinkets but really didn’t need anything this year. Enjoyed myself, and visiting with countless friends. Can the fall meet continue? Absolutely. Will it change and evolve? Yes. Will I continue to attend? YES! Can they control the spaces better to make more vending and less parking? Probably impossible to manage effectively.
  6. Since I wasn’t born during the Cretaceous period I can’t see what they called a refrigerator back then. That said, in my house we called it a refrigerator. 😎
  7. I have posted photos of my Pierce arrow refrigerator in the past.
  8. Overall a great time. Tuesday was a washout, but we made the best of it. I really didn’t have a want list, but did manage a 12volt horn for my White. Found a few small trinkets to flip……..we figure we paid for the airfare, hotel, and gas with just a few items. A 7 day zero cost vacation visiting countless friends. Good to see everyone, and sorry I missed some of you. Back to the shop Monday.
  9. It’s gonna be an epic Fall Meet day……..enjoy! 👍
  10. Why not just keep it and buy a V-16 to go with the book. Much more practical solution to the problem. Ask the wife…….she will agree with me.😏
  11. You need to speak to Charlie K, his handle on here is “just me” he IS the 1913-1914 Cadillac guy.
  12. Just a pick me up for Dandy Dave.
  13. This will be the first time I ever passed up on the fields in 50 years. Rain and cold. My Florida blood just won’t like it. Fortunately we will do other interesting things. Civil war museum, state house, AACA library, museum, and probably the Stroudsburg railroad museum.
  14. Nice car. Unfortunately, location is a huge issue. Flying in and out to inspect the car, and then shipping to the real world. Figure 5 to 7 k just to get the car to the cost on either side. Someone will end up with a nice car at a great deal.
  15. FYI……Most cars used different brake drums, and spindles for wooden artillery wheels and wire and disk wheels will 95 percent of the time NOT bolt up to the existing power train. It’s a bunch of work and effort to swap over. Cars have been driven billions of miles on wood wheels. My 1933 Pierce Arrow tipped the scales at almost 7000 pounds and they are not an issue. On a small car like a Buick, you probably have five times the safety margin of a big car. The only reason too change wheels is for looks.
  16. It doesn’t happen often……..I’m speechless. 🤮
  17. Compression numbers are very good. Compression, spark, fuel, and it’s good to go. One down. Two more to go. 👍
  18. Well this post is over eight years old now, and I often see it in my “not read list”. Always wanted a big 30’s Buick, was mostly Intrested in a 90 series. We ended up landing a 34 Series 56C for Phil, and after sitting 62 years we have it running and driving. Since I took it around the block, I can say yes, and raise my 🖐 and say I have driven a pre war Buick for the first time in over thirty five years. Fun car, and I expect we will bring it to the Miami AACA show in January next year.
  19. Wire chase hole allowed water in. Rusted from the inside out. It’s our farm and parts car mover for local area. It’s a high quality trailer that was well maintained…….but we weren’t aware of the holes. It’s a 1987 model JTJ. It will get new axels and another complete going over. Fortunately it only had the shop dragster on it……a 1956 GMC.
  20. Not sure this is called winning. We got the ultimate flat tire on the open trailer today……….well, sort of flat. Thoughts?
