  2. Itā€™s fun to hear stories from the early days. Itā€™s hard to believe Iā€™m now telling some of them. I donā€™t feel that oldā€¦ā€¦but reality and Father Time are kicking me in the axx. It was 1983 when I bought a 12 year old unmarked police car at a local auction for 35 bucks, and drove it to Hershey sleeping in itā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.money for gas was a BIG issue, as well as food! Those 7-11 Big Gulp drinks and three steamed hot dogs for 2.49 were breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Funny how one can look back on such things and have fond memories. The McRib sandwich story I have while traveling with others too broke to come so they were helping with fuelā€¦ā€¦..priceless. Thank you to all the people who came before me and made the AACA such an important part of my automotive journey. Happy Motoring! Ed

Just because someone has money, it doesnā€™t indicate good taste. Too many over the top cars have owners that think they have a ā€œkiller carā€ on the field, just to discover that almost all over the top cars have bad lines and angles. Less is more. Buck Rodgers styling on any pre war car never worksā€¦ā€¦.like this messā€¦ā€¦ā€¦

As a 20 year old looking for cars that were local to me, I came across a pair of Horch's. They were miles beyond any checkbook I had but they have always been something I have aspired to own. Looking forward to driving one some day.
  6. First photo is The New Mexico high dessert on Friday. The others are Western Mass just after Hershey.
  7. Itā€™s the only time you will see it. Owned by a good friend. We will have it on the Colorado Grand next fall. Iā€™m riding shotgun.
  8. Like most of my projects , this one has been sleeping for about 20 years.
  9. Its actually no problem. Having driven equipment and other unusual vehicles, I donā€™t even notice the RHD at all. The center pedal gas is not a problem eitherā€¦ā€¦.for those not familiar, the pedal arrangement is : clutch throttle brake The right hand shift isnā€™t a problem either. FYI- for what itā€™s worth, a Speed Six W O Bentley is one of the absolute top pre war cars on the planet. Very, very few cars will run with it.
  10. Yes! Pure joy to drive. Iā€™m not usually a foreign car type, but this car was exceptional.
  11. Bob, itā€™s a Big Boy Toy. Speed Six. Had a front end issues, and we fixed it up quickly.

Never trust a car that has a star! Drive the 853 and you will never look back. The 500/540K jobs are outstanding carsā€¦ā€¦.buy one and you will be left out standing on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck!
  13. Driving a fantastic car through the high desert. Altitude is starting to catch up to meā€¦.but itā€™s worth it! šŸ˜Ž
  14. Running a electric fuel pump on the same circuit as the ignition switch is a bad idea. It can cause running problems. Most fuel pumps draw significant amperage, and as they go bad they can draw more causing ignition issues which can be difficult to diagnose.

Very slick. Beats the hell out of any 500/540 K. šŸ‘
  16. Lee and Ann Davenport were good friends, and I toured with them many times. He was truly an remarkable man and an American hero.
  17. I just bought one on Amazon for my 34. Direct fit. 40 bucks. Works great. Iā€™m out west till Monday. Remind me then, and I will post a link.
  18. Itā€™s been a while since I had mine. Post a few photos please. Itā€™s a fairly rare car, and most people familiar with them are not too active in on line forums.
  19. Why bother. Put it on the Sun distributor tester. Itā€™s more accurate and you can test it while itā€™s operating. You can also check the centrifugal Advance at the same time.
