  1. Hello all, I am working on setting the preload on the rockers for this car...I don't have the specs for setting the preload on the lifters. Does anyone have this info? Thanks

Can judging errors even be reversed?
  3. Awesome!! Welcome to the 1960 Buick Universe
  4. If you have the cooling system apart, I would have a radiator guy check it out anyway. The one in my 60 looked fresh, and it ended up with a leak that I couldn't really see, and it had some crap in it.
  5. The hood ornament is for a 58 front fender.
  6. Appears to be an early 30's taillight/license plate mount.
  7. 42-46 looks right to me. The 49 trim would have both top and bottom concave shape.
  8. I am looking for photos of original seat patterns for a 58 Super Coupe. I have the new correct material, but the upholstery guy needs to know what they look like. I cannot find anything on Google. The only reference I have is a photo in the 58 trim book that I gave him. Thanks!
  9. You guys really know how to scare the hell out of someone! Brandon, the only way to learn is to DO the job...of course it helps to get advice from those who have done it. Ultimately it's up to you whether you tackle the entire dash removal or not. Like it has been said, you can do it either way. With it in the car, you have to be a master taper to make sure everything is covered. Removing the dash is not fun...at all. And replacing it without scratching the hell out of the rest of the interior is interesting, too. Might be better with a second set of hands. What did you do to get the MP3 player to run through the radio? THAT is something I would love to know.
  10. You should be able to change them without pulling the engine. It will need to be raised a bit so you can remove, though. Either by jacking up the engine from the bottom or lifting with a hoist. (Someone will cry about the comment about jacking it up at the balancer). You only need to raise it a couple inches. Keep an eye out for the fan hitting the shroud, and power steering hoses stretching/tearing.
  11. I have found trim clips in many sizes at my local body shop supply store. I installed most of the trim on Lance's 57 this past Winter with new clips. No waiting for shipping, either.
  12. I did just that, about a month ago. Fixed it right up!
  13. This may not apply to you, but also check the parking brake cable if it is riding on the bottom side of the torque tube. I am missing the rubber grommet in the retainer and rattles like an SOB.
  14. Bare aluminum for the bell, bare cast for the rest of the case. That is what I've seen for both of the transmissions in my Limited and Roadmaster. And I had them both out and stripped.
  15. Did I see this car in Springfield this year? I saw it sitting in the regular parking lot next to the swap meet during the week, but don't remember it at the show.
  16. It is all white...the lower section is ribbed aluminum trim found only on the Electra 225 models. I think the biggest reason I went with the red was because of the interior. They were black previously. And crusty crusty crusty...
  17. And thats probably the top of the market for it in that condition. Fixed front seat and working AC would do it well. Also, lots more photos would make the guesstimate more accurate. Tom Z just had his black Electra 225 4 door Riviera on ebay a couple times in similar condition, and it would not sell at $8750. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Electra-225-/331622516061?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d363e055d&item=331622516061
