  1. At the end of the day, it's still a Super, though. Like Keith said, it's all in the name. I probably would have passed on my 60 if it was not a 225. Same with the Limited when I bought it.
  2. Carnage. I had to cut off the rear shocks. Another horrible top mount design.
  3. I think you're on the right track with the flexplate teeth rubbing on something. Maybe the starter is sticking somewhat, allowing the teeth to run against the starter gear a bit?
  4. What I thought would be an easy project of replacing the shocks has turned into a full afternoon affair. 3 of the 4 bolts that hold the bottoms of the front shocks on broke off. Drilling out bolts from under the car is not fun. In other news, I ordered tires. Now I get to strip and paint the wheels. The tires should be delivered August 4 or 5. No more brown walls!
  5. I just looked in Summit's site. Same Coker tire is $206 on both sites. But I save $100 on shipping through Summit. And if I went with the Generals which are $11 cheaper (each), I am still saving $30 on the total cost if I go through Summit for the Coker tires. Hmmmmm
  6. Is this the General tire you speak of? http://www.lucasclassictires.com/800-15-General-Dual-90-3WW-179p.htm
  7. I am going to take the plunge and buy some nice reproduction tires for the 60, and I don't want to burn a bunch of $$ getting a size that is going to cost my points at a judged meet. My research shows that 8.00x15 tire with a 2 1/4" whitewall is correct. This is as close as I can find to that measurement: https://www.cokertire.com/800-15-coker-classic-2-1-2-whitewall-tire.html Is this an acceptable tire? Dropping a grand on stuff like this makes me cringe, when I can spend less than half on a decent set of radials.
  8. Ouch...I would definitely try to keep my eyes open for a replacement engine/block. You will be money ahead by sticking with what will bolt in...especially when it comes to resale value. And you are thinking "I'm never going to sell this car." I said that 10 cars ago
  9. It was good to see you and Pete make it out, Brian. There were around 300 people at the visitation. Unfortunately, I had to leave to get back to work before I could join the rest of the Buick parade. I did drive it, though
  10. Thanks to shorttimer, I now have a lower trim piece to cover up the lovely rust hole in the passenger side fender! It looks soooo much better with that piece mounted.
  11. Yes, but it's too late at this point. The bandwidth has been burned for the month. I even upgraded it half way through last week because it tripped my limit then. At this point if I upgrade again, it will just be burning money.
  12. Good. Those are the ones I loaded to their gallery. The other 40 in my description are not working, and I know that. My stupid website host is weak, and this auction sucked all my July bandwidth to death.
  13. Question for y'alllll... Can you view the photos that I have uploaded on ebay's photo gallery? I have a guy telling me that he cannot see them. I know the ones I inserted in the description are dead, but the ones that ebay is hosting should be fine. BTW, Buy-it now price is lowered/
  14. We have lost someone really special. We will miss him so much.
  15. No I didn't send any second offers. Just relisted with BIN obo
  16. WOW close to the reserve. Relisted with fixed price OBO
  17. My hosting service for the photos I posted on the auction exceeded its bandwidth limit. I can't fix those links, but I added links to the bottom of the page and it has all the current photos below the broken links. What a PITA.
  18. No 2-tone paint there. Maybe you're seeing the ribbed trim on the bottom?
  19. Needing to move a few things...some of which I don't want to throw away. Tried to price them reasonably enough to sell. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-Buick-Brake-Line-Distribution-Block-Brass-Tee-60-Brakes-/252017812921?hash=item3aad6ea5b9&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-Buick-Portholes-Ventiports-Left-Right-60-/252017827460?hash=item3aad6ede84&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-Buick-Brake-Line-Tee-1957-1958-1959-Brass-/252017822935?hash=item3aad6eccd7&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-Buick-Hood-Latch-Support-and-Pin-60-/252017831985?hash=item3aad6ef031&vxp=mtr
  20. Only 6 days left! These 10 day auctions are a test of my patience. I only listed it as a 10 day auction so I could get it to end on Monday night...and I was too anxious to wait until this past Monday night to start the auction. I really hope this car sells as a result of this...it will give me the boost I need to get going on a few other things.
  21. Have you seen this one on ebay? It's a major project...not sure if you would consider this junk or not... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Roadmaster-/281741956068?forcerrptr=true&hash=item41992113e4&item=281741956068
