  1. On the old cars I use waterless car wash and a micro towel, wax with Meguiars number 26 and of course a adult beverage pete
  2. No not hand buffing, you have to power buff to get a good depth of shine and to be able to remove fine scratches. Pete
  3. I can remember being bemused at a specific car placing first in a class and watching the speedometer swivel fall off as it was fired up to collect the trophy. It was owned by a major sponsor of the show. I think some shows are judged by people who painstakingly try to be fair, and others by people who are influenced by other considerations. It’s best to not get too emotionally involved.
  4. I use 1000 grit sand paper then start buffing. Will also on larger areas use a da sander with 1000 on it,have one that use,s 2 inch round discs the kind for removing dirt nibs in paint. Cheers pete
  5. A 1912 magazine article described it as quaint and was very sarcastic about the tire cost

  9. So seeing I like long shots, I found the OP in some very backhanded way and hoped I could get a message through to him. The fact that he has reappeared seems like it might have worked. The time frame fits! Let’s hope he or the guy with the info posts back on this thread! Erica
  10. Find Shackelton Auctions in Ontario on the web Some past auctions have the prices fetched posted. If not go through the upcoming auctions and find time to actually watch one. They are all on line only right now. Minitoys? and some other brands go sky high. Their bidders are from all over, definitely not the locals. Most auctions have a large chunk of automotive stuff.
  11. Jim, that auction houses sales are worth watching. They seem to have developed a niche market in service station ephemera, or else every barn in this area is stacked high with the stuff. Tin signs, described as repo fetched over $ 4000 recently. It’s fascinating watching the bids jump. Gas pumps etc also clearly restored or painted as no original ever was are bid into the stratosphere in the pre bidding stage. I think it is cheaper collecting actual cars!
  12. I would rather look at a car that was not perfect BUT had been restored by the owner to the best of his ability, then a perfect car restored by the owner’s cheque book.
  13. Very simply. You can take the photo of the part with your phone. It will go into your photo album along with the photos of the dog and the grandkids. Create your post - for sale whatever but do the writing now. See the underlined choose files. Click on that and it will give you some choices. Hit photo library and it will open your album. Hit the photo you want and it should get a blue tick and the word done top right. Hit that and it should attach to your post. I am not an expert and people are welcome to say how they do it Erica
  14. I guess my library is more of a collection of early reference books
  15. Have you tried doing force quit on safari? There’s something out there that tags on safari and loads all sort of advertising pages? If I force quit I can open in Oracle which doesn’t have the same problems
  16. Bloo that brought back memories. Our dealership always got a couple that were I think called Dusty Rose and they would fail to sell. Guess who got to drive them as demo’s,they referred to the colour as rooster dink pink ’
