I posted photos on a Facebook group asking for help in identifying this top. Suggestions are that it could be 20 ish McLaughlin Buick. Any thoughts?

I think one problem with magazines like Hemmings is the time lag between submitting an ad and the ad actually being on the newsstand in a printed copy. There are now so many other faster ways to buy or sell. That being said, I too have had the experience of trying to contact one of Hemmings editors. People should remember that they represent an organization and if my impression of the service they provide is negative, it affects my impression of their business .

Another Car Guy Has Passed.... Mark Smith
playswithbrass replied to Steve Moskowitz's topic in General Discussion
Would also like to share that if you have any of your belongings in storage with a friend or whatever, make sure their affairs are up to date. A friend stored a substantial amount of car parts in his friends barn and unfortunately that friend passed and his will cannot be found. This has created enormous unforeseen complications for our friend -

Had to be fair. My package did a big flight last night from Sioux Falls SD to Toronto Ont.

I am waiting for a package. I sent a unit to be repaired and received copies of the shipping details, tracking no’s etc. So it went from Wichita, Kansas to Chicago in record time and I got excited. This morning it is recorded as having gone through Wisconsin to Sioux Falls SD. I am in Ontario, 100 miles east of Detroit. I am scared to check tomorrow.

playswithbrass replied to 1957Birdman's topic in General Discussion
Always remember going round a display with a lot of cars with famous name previous owner provenance. Crusty, well known blunt old car guy with me commented “ I don’t give a damn whose butt sat in the drivers seat. Doesn’t make the car better or worse” -

What is the Ideal Humidity Level for Your Shop or Garage?

Too high here and a white powder mold forms on the leather. Too low and the wood spokes all go loose. -
When did personalized license plates begin?
playswithbrass replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Discussion
Here in Ontario it can be quite a puzzle working out what message a personalized number plate is trying to convey. A lot are way too subtle to decipher before the lights change! -

Brand new poster with a 10 year old photo -
Reading this through. Our EMF is a Pollard car. It has his name stamped on the frame, well covered with paint. We got the impression that if Barney had to prove it was one of his cars he knew where to find his name.

Were there noticeably less spectators and the cars more spaced? Just wondering how the guide lines on the website actually played out?

I loved “ checked the car ate pizza and crashed for the night.” Maybe that was why it started over’eating ? Erica
