  1. How nice it is that Club Members have gone out of their way to help others with this type of information
  2. I am now 78 and remember reading a Model A owners manual in High School study hall. I've always enjoyed the styling of the 30/31 A's . You did well with your purchase and the enjoyment will out weigh the expense. They do seem to run well. Enjoy
  3. I have one of these if anyone is looking for parts.
  4. The singer Tom Watts used this phrase in his song "Phantom 309" and I think it applies here. The dash was lit up like the "Old Madam La Rue pinball machine. What a pleasant visual thought.
  5. Plymouth and Chevy used these around 28/29 to raise/lower their front windshield
  6. Glad to see your were able to work through your problem.
  7. I am always amazed at the "Real World" information found on this forum. If I learned anymore my "Head" might crack open. Thanks again to all who posted.
  8. I usually have a positive outlook when I look for parts. I have learned to "Net Work" with friends and "Shake the Bushes" with wanted ad's. It is amazing what parts are squirreled away. Being a Club member will save you money. Good Luck.
  9. If you are unable to source a replacement I've heard the vendor Vince Cassidy in the Boston area has over 2000 rims. He is a forum member
  10. Once you get to the blue Ridge Parkway, I believe the speed limit is 45 MPH. This should keep all the crazies off your bumper. The Scenery is "Most Beautiful."
  11. Engine problems are like a marriage, Sometimes you have a choice, "Give Up" or work through the problem. You say you have good vacuum but you have not posted the reading taken at idle. If you have 17" at idle I would suspect a fuel problem. You say it will not run with the choke open. I would leave the choke open and start it with spray either. If it won't run without more either looked into your carb/fuel pump. 216's ran forever "Back in the Day"
  12. In today's world, isn't it nice forum members reach out to"Help" each other.
  13. If you don't have one, now is the time to buy a "Stud Remover"
  14. I bought the Hoof catalog off Evil-Bay. It seems to be pre 30. I think when it gets here the interchangeability between different makes will be interesting. More information for me to take to the "Grave" Life is Good
  15. I have a parts engine apart with the studs if you are unable to find any. Don in Ohio
  16. I always thought if, "Back in the Day" when these cars were new and one was in Europe and was involved in a major wreck the body man having never seen another one would be unable to pound out the sheet metal as the body lines did not make sense.
  17. I can almost hear the rust "Crying".
  18. I would suggest you reconsider a Speedster/ Fair Grounds Racer project starting with a late teen's chassis. It's amazing how cheap you can build one for. Plus a tremendous amount of satisfaction fitting all the modified pieces together .Life is Good
  19. I have read the above comments and agree with the "Real World" mechanics. I am surprised in your description you have not said how you are checking the vacuum. Put a vacuum gauge on it and post the reading. This how you know where to start. It's not "Rocket Science"
  20. Now is the time to replace some items in your differential . If no problems I would leave the 3rd member be.. I would look into rear axle seals and the front pinion seal and replace if available. Plus the 2 big circle gaskets on the 3rd member & rear cover plus a good wipe out of the axle housing. If you have the 3rd member out the broken axle piece should just pull out. Myself, I never developed the practice of leaving the car in neutral, Life is Good.
  21. I believe I have some extra valves and lifters from my Big 6 project. What are you looking for?. Don in central Oh
  22. I would guess there are many small differences with the USA trucks and Canadian truck,
  23. This is the best money you ever spent. Replacements like this is why some cars make it back home. It's always cheaper at home and this is how you become a knowledgeable person able to help others. Nice car.
