  3. Models like this were made for driving schools in Germany in recent years . Quite common there in many forms . Visible engines , differential , transmission , and full chassis . Most of those I have seen have the company plate of the maker . You have a nice example .
  4. Flivverking...........You can buy lye over the counter now ? Last time I tried to buy a 8 oz bottle I was told NO . It seems the meth lab chemists were using lye as part of their recipe .

  12. I have seen this caning done on car sides over the many years and wondered just HOW that was done . Today it would be a vinyl applique , but they didn't have that then . And I'm sure it wasn't striped. Perhaps some were real cane but many were a paint process . Thanks for any answers !

  19. These columns of this period usually have a small hole just forward of the wheel on top just for oiling the upper bushing. Small hole. Put the nut back on loose to preserve the threads.

  21. Yes, it really is an interesting find. It will require a big enough wood shop to rewood that body complete.
