  1. I was going to say a 1930 Tatra sedan until I saw that 1929 Studebaker Victoria. That car makes me sorry !
  2. WOW Matt! Do you have the red sedan for sale?
  3. Who do what big it was ? Or some.
  4. As if there isn't enough sound advice here already, I suggest reading kda132.com/technical.html The author has much experience with post war RR and Bentley. The articles will open the blindest of eyes to what lies ahead to a buyer. It even includes a prebuy inspection checklist beginning with putting on coveralls ! I maintained my fathers 1951 SD for several years after a body off restoration. Fun to drive to a show, but as Matt states, it's a BLACK HOLE ! I'm so happy it is in Texas now.
  5. Changing clincher tires has been covered to death on the MTFCA forum. MANY ways to do it . Just Google search "clincher tire change mtfca forum". There is days of reading there with many opinions on what and which is best. Bring enough patience and you will be fine. Tubes? Yes , same size as tire. But which tube stem to use? That is another swamp to wade into ! Best Wishes..............
  6. Do you need the wood bows or the sockets TOO?
  7. I have NO experience with Buffalo wheels, but........it looks like in the last picture of the inside of the drum there is a collar pressed onto the hub. The hub will also be pressed into the drum. I'd use witness marks before removing anything. Also, you do not state what car make or model this wheel is for. That may help greatly to get the right answer.
  8. The aluminum bulb mounted on the firewall is an aftermarket accy. called "Devil Dog" It is a switch for an alarm system using the cars horn. It is supposed to be mounted vertical under a wood floor board. A wire from the horn is connected to the insulated terminal on the side. The aluminum body is grounded with another wire. Inside is a thin spring blade with a lead weight on the end. When someone gets in the car the spring swings to the contact point and honks the horn. http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2014/06/for-your-amusement-1930-automatic-devil.html
  9. Once you let the smoke out of a Lucas system, it's just too hard to repair back to original.
  10. Best Wishes to you ! Are the demountable wheels from a later period Ford Model T?
  11. Google Image the make model and year to show the car is missing the runningboards. But sales brochure images show the skirts.
  12. While you have that out on the bench, replace the tab lock washers and ensure the bolts are tight. Then set the tabs on the washers.
  13. To address the bolt issue. Do a search on line for "banjo bolt". Many appear, but I don't know your size and thread to search for you. Hard to believe you cannot find replacements.
  14. Search Ebay for "vintage spark plug core". Not a lot but some............
  15. Hurrah Vern, now time to blow your own horn.
  16. Remove the horn from the car and remove the back cover. Post a picture or two and we can advise from there. Usually quite easy.
  17. And you cannot drive the car until you fuel it, BUT you cannot find the keys! Reminds me of the time the dog ate my homework.
  18. I hope it is what you need. I looked at the site linked and it said OUT OF STOCK. No indication of what is in the $214 'kit'. Just a bag O parts. I had an OX-2 overhauled three years ago in the US. I was happy with $450US. Be aware this carb has two die cast venturies and most will be destroyed trying to remove them. The man I used makes new ones from aluminum. I don't mention his name here as I know for fact he is not taking in any more brass carbs this year due to his backlog. Best wishes !
  19. Where to find such specs for a 20s auto. They weren't even torquing bolts back then .
  20. Perhaps the body was made by GLASER of Dresden. They were noted most of all for their cabriolet bodies.
  21. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170728 carbking , I found this recently and thought it a great idea for gaskets . Crossover from another hobby . Cutting gaskets on a computer controlled paper cutter . Perhaps it's of help .
  22. Well.........it really is rocket science .
