"Starter Drive Spring Clips" are for sale on ebay or Model A parts suppliers have them . That is not the tab lock washer . That washer is separate and necessary .

I just bought a lead acid 6 volt at TSC because the Optima that came in the car was shot . The neighbor uses Optima in his dragster and said that lead acid charger will not charge an Optima . He loaned me his charger and the Optima failed the interrogation test three times . He condemned the Optima so I went shopping . QUESTION ....What are you folks using to charge all your Optima batteries ? How is a three brush generator going to charge an Optima ?

Possibly hammer points for a stationary engine . But I cannot explain the brass yolk fitting . -
That is an accessory fuel gauge for a 1926 1927 Ford with the fuel tank in the cowl . The two holes are used to mount it to the right side dash board .
-
Most likely , you have not installed the bendix drive correctly . There should be a small woodruff key under the end fitting AND a dog nose bolt to screw through the end fitting into the armature shaft . Do not forget the tab lock washers under the bolt heads .

This car is still on offer for sale .

'41 Buick, Material underneath Front Seat
HarryLime replied to Kenneth Carr's topic in Buick - Pre War
Upholsterers also call it "panel board" and most auto upholstery shops have it in stock. 32 X 48 inches I recently paid $20 for a sheet. -
I posted to this thread, but it disappeared. Search this site for REMY 917 generator. There is much said and many ways to approach this problem.

Many references to the REMY 917 on this forum. Try a search. Several options.

I now see the mechanism. You are correct Rim Wind.
