auburnseeker
This just showed up on ebay. No reserve and just under 10G opening bid. Dig down deep and go for it might be as close as you will find. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1941-Chrysler-Windsor-Series/192984439033?hash=item2ceec4d8f9:g:06EAAOSw0NNdJhr4
34studepres
I used to own this car. Sold it to a guy in Europe.
auburnseeker
Somehow it travelled back to the US unless that seller is just brokering it. You could own it again, unless there is a good reason you got rid of it?
c49er
I'd like to see the dash and door "mottled" plastic, engine and trunk... not much info on this car. Looks nice exterior wise though..
alsancle
Something doesn't seem right. That is a horrible auction and description. Makes me think the pictures were pilfered.

Ever see a dealer with a 10 word description? It might be 500 words of nothing, but they always say a lot.
Curti
Isn't the grey 3 window coupe a 42 Chrysler ?
John_S_in_Penna
That gray 1942 Chrysler which Auburnseeker posted says it is "maroon" in its description. Please, someone report this apparent fraud to Ebay to save someone from being taken advantage of!
auburnseeker
Was the Maroon for the interior? That's the way I took it. I agree crappy ebay ad, but then again, many are. That's how I make my money, buying poorly listed stuff and relisting it properly. "Isn't the grey 3 window coupe a 42 Chrysler ?" In my gutt I was thinking that but then thought yeah that's right they had hidden headlights, but now that you mention it and I gave it a second thought, that was Desoto's deal in 42 not Chrysler. Probably wth all the errors it's a scam. Edited July 11, 2019 by auburnseeker (see edit history)
keiser31
Yes, it is a 1942 Chrysler. and yes, the DeSoto in 1942 had hidden headlights.
c49er
Jeez...and I thought I knew these 3 passenger Chrysler 3 passenger coupe's! I didn't even pick up the 1941 yet knew it was a 42 grille... getting older.............................. Scammers.
Oldsfan
Here are the rest of the photos. I notice they blacked out the plates... https://www.rkmotors.com/vehicles/1769/1942-chrysler-windsor
c49er
That is one beautifully restored 42 Windsor 3 passenger coupe! A couple minor issues but NICE! Too bad this is likely another Ebay farce.

The fraudulent Ebay listing says, "Maroon Tan interior." The original dealer's ad conveys the same information. And obviously, it's a gray car. Thanks to Olds Fan for digging up the original listing!
auburnseeker
Mopars of 46-48 Vintage had Maroon interiors with tan colored cloth inserts. That's what I figured they meant. If you think everyone fills out all those blocks correctly try looking for a brand new stick Tacoma pickup and see how many of the lazy dealers check the wrong boxes, leave them blank entirely and show file photos of the entirely wrong model. I just figured it was laziness on the sellers part. You know how many ads on Facebook for say a 46 Ford car or even 32 Ford car, say F150 for the model? I just listed my 40 Ford on there. First car I ever did and realize how lazy people are with tiny descriptions, if you want to call them that and 1 or 2 photos. I think they allow 20 or more. Lots of Listings on ebay contain incorrect or are missing alot of information. Just look at the ads on here. No location, no price. 1 picture and something like call Bob for the entire description. JACK M
I contacted the seller thru Ebay and he sent me a bunch of pictures and a detailed description. I was just curious.
marcapra
I've seen that 42 Chrysler for sale before and it was priced in the 70 to 80K price range I think. The interior plastics are incredible! So you are looking for just a 1941 model? If I may ask, why do you like that year? Marc. victorialynn2
You can do a reverse image search on Google. This is helpful to find original sites where a scammer may have stolen pics for fraudulent ads.
