Guest BJM
thanks Stevo.Always like period photos, they really are worth a thousand words. Your mom's outfit looks like a nicer summer dress from that time. That's a beautiful car. I believe 41 Buick? That means your folks just bought a new car.You can tell from the short sleeves and maybe if your mom is that detailed, then maybe it's a 4th of July outfit (stars)
serb
Another of my Mother taken in 1940. What year is the car? Lamar, that is it for now. I will have to dig a couple more out.Stevo
Philippe Racicot
My mother, pregnant of me in the fall on 1976 with my parent's '76 Century Custom coupe (she had just turned 22 on this picture). When I was born in Jan 1977, my father had already replaced it with a black '77 Pontiac Grand Prix with a red cloth bench seat as he didnt like the cold vinyl bucket seats in the Buick but he sold the Century to my uncle who kept it five more years. I remember riding in the backseat of that car and looking at the nice center console and dashboard. That's the car that got me interested in Buicks! When my uncle sold it, I still didn't know it used to be my father's car until I found slides showing my parents with this car many years later! 50jetback
I guess this photo will fit this thread. It is the occassion of my daughters wedding and we used my 1930 series 40 sedan as the bridal car. The car was my fathers and I inherited it after his death in 1993. It was a really nice touch to use a vehicle which my Dad enjoyed owning for many years as the bridal car for his grandaughters wedding.

TG57Roadmaster
Greetings,Thankfully the thread isn't called Girls Gone Buick! I can think of few Buicks more suitable for this topic than the '42-'48 large series, with their flow-thru fenders. Hope you enjoy Dave Bowman's 70K mile, 47 Roadmaster HPOF cream puff, which we call Mr. Henry.Tom Gibson

Guest imported_MrEarl
he he he yea Johny, I bought some of those. Actually the seller was very nice and is open to make up annything you might want in the way of a magnet or card. I am finding that Buicks are really appreciated around the world. With girls on them or not. I recently sold a Roadmaster to someone in the states but there were a couple of guys in Sweden that was trying to get everything together to buy it. Had some interesting conversations with them. they wanted it because they thought it was "sexy". I've always thought that too but thought it was just a personal thing he he he anyhow, looky here. any one have any thing to share about what this is. Guest imported_Thriller
I'd say it's a sailor getting geared up to remove a fairly attractive woman since she's a bit heavier than the hood ornament and may damage the car
Guest imported_MrEarl
On ebay now get yours now Stevo And while I have your attention. I was completing the Nationals registration and could not find any mention in the itenerary of the Girls on Buicks Contest and when the judging for that would be. Also there was no mention made of it in the Judges sign up section which would have of course been my first choice. Surely this is an oversight. Centurion can you look into this and maybe get with Pete and have it covererd in the next issue of the Bugle.
