Whoa, Mr. Earl, you've made my day with that great photo of the Buicks and the Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) Boeing 377 Stratocruiser. The double-decked Stratocruiser was the ultimate in airborne luxury during the 1950's. The type was a commercial derivative of the B-29 Superfortress, and, sadly, none of the Stratocruisers have survived. One of the major collector car clubs in my area is comprised of Boeing employees. The name of their club? "The Boeing Stratocruisers", of course!

Great pictures, love the 56. Hope to see and hear more in the Me and My Buicks Forum. Well, whilst I is here may as well post a couple of Girls on Buicks in hopes of keeping this thread from going under. Anyone care to try and identify the make and models of these two?

Roberta:

On the left hand side of that last photo is the driver side fender of my 39 with the Ohio license plate and the Buick Safety Legion Tag. The only time I remember being at the Cultural Center is for the Centennial in 2003. Wish I'd been there when this photo was taken.

That reminds me...I purchased a couple of '29 ads that came out of women's magazines of the day (don't recall off hand what they were and would need ot start digging to find the ads), so the ads were geared toward women. Perhaps when I make a chance I'll find them, scan them, and post. </div></div>

So have you found them yet?

In the meantime.

At least the latter half of that statement goes without saying. Right now, Ewing has me drooling over the '81 Regal Pace Car replica on ePay.

They are close by...I should have time tomorrow to try to scan them (they're wider at least than my scanner) and post this weekend at the latest.

I have quite a few pictures of my Buicks with my girls (Mother, Grandmother, Daughters,Wife). I thought I'd throw this one into the mix. She will be 28 on the 31st of Dec. She looks to be about 4 in this picture. She was probably showing off with her new bike. I'll have to post others starting with my Dad's 41 Super.

They're too big for my scanner, so I took digital photos, mucked about with them, and uploaded them.

Here's one from the September 1928 Ladies Home Journal.

Sept28_LHJ_ad1.jpg

This one is from the same location, but October 1928.

Oct28_LHJ_ad2.jpg

I got sort of a snarl / scoff from Suzanne when I mentioned they were from what should be one of her magazines <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

I see Roberta's ad is from a later version of the same source. It goes to show back then that the advertising really was targetted...neat.
