I still patch stuff and then throw them out when they get that bad. One time I was at an event with my daughter, at the time she was in her early 20's and a few of her friends were there too. One of them, and she is gorgeous young woman, had on these pure white fancy jeans, looking brand new and perfect (like her!) except for a tear just above the knee. Later on ! made a comment to the effect It's too bad H..... tore those beautiful jeans. Then my daughter said, "Dad......" How to make guy feel old or what!!! True story.
