  1. Looking at the elbow it does not look like it is flat. The photo appears that there the ends are higher than the center. If it was mine, I would consider taking the top elbow and either put it in a mill and make sure it is flat or if you have a large belt sander put it on that to be sure it is flat. Then look at the engine side with a straight edge and feeler gauges to ensure it is flat. You should not need to take off much material to make sure it is flat. After you confirm both surfaces are flat, then you should be able to use some standard gasket material. This is what I use for those applications. Are you near A2?
  2. I have this hood and I do not know what it might fit. The hood is about 55 inches from the top of the V at the bottom to the top of the hood. It is also about 55 inches from side to side at the bottom. If anyone needs this hood, it is for sale. Thanks for everyone's help.
  3. This tag almost looks exactly like a Fisher Body tag used on GM vehicles.
  4. The radiator is a 1912 because of the emblem. Here is a page of the original factory records on serial & engine numbers for your vintage of car. Hope that helps you with your car. Nice looking chassis. Did you get a body and the rest of the car? Based on the engine number of 18184 your engine/car might be a 1910. See below.
  5. I do not recognize them from any of my vehicles of the same era. What did you start with? Pictures?
  6. The manufacturers never made a "perfect" car or vehicle to the blue prints. There was always some variation along with issues with handling by moving the vehicle from the plant to the customer. Most paint jobs in the day never looked like newly painted vehicles today. Just IMO & experience.
  7. In about 1972 I bought two Corvairs for $10.00 each. Fixed one up and drove it 50,000 miles, actually my girl friend at the time drove it. Car long gone, but the girl friend, she is my wife of 45 years to date. Great acquisition on both accounts.
  8. You need to get a hubcap wrench in the correct size. Don't damage it more than you have so far. You have a 6 sided hub cap. Just measure across the flats to get the correct size. You should be able to get one in the $20-30 range. Something like this is what you are looking for. Maybe this one will work depending the distance across the flats. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304347897539?hash=item46dc8c5ec3:g:aSYAAOSw-T1iADji&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoLC3OlfLGusq1LfkhdeDRNkruc5b%2B36IN84eXY94cWkXlHeGxi3MUMaS%2F3lNfz6GXi4vyomhQS0KR6buVmfTIFx%2FeDU88kkbR%2FOOUF6bt5jY1f2SYFJfQguYEbyKOesvwkL1UGFv2Ncr99V2%2B%2FXh9UnauxmMTkYbvwf%2Blsy6iPGkf0OBlLvHo6AcnR91dIktGxgW4cGVnsqjoKH9AlF%2BVCU%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_6bg-OhYQ You should be able to clean up the one your have so it is serviceable until you find a better cap.
  9. The ring looks like the headlight rings on '17 & '18 D-35 & E-35 cars.
  10. Search seat belts on the site. There is a lot of discussion on pros & cons. Here is one thread. Just do not pay attention to the guy that talks about air bags.
  11. You are not mistaken. Here is a wiring diagram for my '15 Buick truck. It has a 6 volt battery & 10 volts of dry cell batteries.
  12. Did you mean 120 volt, 20 amp outlets? How many plugs on a circuit?
  13. Our local Culvers has a Tuesday night drive in all summer long. It is not unusual for them to have over 500 cars show up on Tuesday night. We sometimes bring one of the old cars down and usually have a big crowd that we answer questions for quite some time. Fun.
  14. I just took our 7 year old grandson to the local Model T Christmas party last weekend where he could be initiated to some of the members of the club/ hobby. He has already been on two tours with us.
  15. Not enough memory. I think I remember some guy saying "I think 64K memory is more than anyone will need".
  16. . As a note, The 1917 & 1918 D-35 has aluminum caps with block letters.
  17. To those of us with understanding, they are just old, old, used cars. All used cars have issues.
  18. For no one working on their own cars, some of the parts stores stock sure has been doing well. I would think that there is a correlation to parts sales and people working on their vehicles and the companies stock prices.
  19. And if you want to buy a truck in any color than white, it will cost you $495.00 because it is a "premium" product. I bought a Chevy Silverado and saved the $500 and got the color I wanted.
  20. I think all Jeep Wrangler head light in low are aimed from the factory on the high setting. Really IMO applies to almost all Jeep vehicles.
  21. For buttons in a vehicle, I think the award goes to the first generation Chevrolet Volt. If memory is correct, there were a lot of different buttons in the center stack including the console. Most of the lettering was in very small type to boot. Try reading this at night.
  22. What do you need? I just my renewal notice today in the mail and renewed my membership tonight.
