The week after the Lansing-Dearborn tour we headed to northern Michigan for the Mid-West Brass & Gas tour put on by Brian & Christine Heil. Another great few days out. We stayed at a hunting lodge bead & breakfast called The Shack. Great people and a great place to spend time touring. http://shackcountryinn.com Brian and Christine did a great tour. Much of the drive was very scenic and was at a very casual pace through northern Michigan roads. Among the places we stopped was an Amish store that served us coffee & donuts. The donuts were the lightest donuts that I have ever had. They were extremely good. Another place that we stopped at was The Shrine Of The Pines. Interesting place with lots of unique furniture in a log cabin setting. https://www.theshrineofthepines.com

Well it has been a very busy month for Joyce and I. We have been on three tours in three weeks and put on over 1,000 miles on our 1913 Buick touring car. The first tour was after Labor Day on the Lansing-Dearborn tour in conjunction with the Old Car Festival. On that tour we put about 250 miles on our vehicles. We drove the '13 Buick with friends from Nashville while our daughter and her husband drove our 1915 Buick truck. Both vehicles performed fine on the tour. One of the stops that we did was to stop at an elementary school with the tour group. This was to let the students see the different vehicles, all from 1915 and older. They were thrilled. Joyce and I let students get up and sit in our truck. They were so excited to sit in the truck that we had a line waiting for the chance to sit in the truck about 40 yards back. All of the students were very well behaved. On the way back to Greenfield Village we were driving by our daughters work place (Major Japanese Oil Co) and stopped so she could show everyone what she was doing on her day off. Good stop. Back at Greenfield Village ready for the Old Car Festival.

When appropriate, I also use aircraft pliers.

Last week we were on the Lansing-Dearborn HCCA & AACA joint tour in conjunction with the Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village/ The Henry Ford Museum. We put almost 250 miles on the 1913 Buick and my Daughter and her husband put almost the same number of miles on our 1915 Buick truck driving from Dearborn to Lansing on Thursday and back from Lansing to Dearborn on Friday. We made a number of stops including one at an elementary school in Stockbridge, MI. See the attached link for some of the school pictures. We were letting the kids sit in our truck and at one time had a line probably 30 yards long of students waiting to sit in the truck and get their picture taken. Joyce was helping them up on the passenger side and I was helping them exit on the drivers side. The students were thrilled. https://stockbridgecommunitynews.com/school-kids-enjoy-fun-in-the-sun-while-admiring-vehicles-from-yesteryear/?no_cache=1663254217&fbclid=IwAR3dhCyXeuYEF0TVN3iAeaZwF0JI29kA6gI2vVn2CHSCRdPnKxm-VL_x1Ek I will try to put some other pictures of that tour later. We left Greenfield Village on Sunday and then drove to another HCCA tour in White Cloud, MI put on by Brian Heil and his wife. We put over 300 miles on this three day tour. Everyone had a great time with a great group of individuals. Brian and his wife did a nice job on that tour. Not bad for a 1913 Buick to put almost 600 miles on it 7 days. I will post some more pictures of the tours.

1938 Century pulls to the left when brakes applied

A plugged rubber line or are the air pressures the same in all of the tires? The rubber lines are cheap enough I would replace all of them. They are a safety item. -
I am. I use them all of the time on tours. I rarely use the gas pedal when driving in the country side.

Garage flooring success

I did the same in my shop near Flint. It is a lot warmer in the winter too. I got the carpet from friends & family that was upgrading the carpet in their homes. A lot of it like bedroom carpet is barely used. -

How far have you traveled to purchase a car?

From north of Detroit to almost Reno, Nevada for my Model F Buick. -
Agree. Fix the obvious first which is the wiring. You might be surprised on the results of good wiring.

If it is more towards the 50 amp continuous current draw, I would suggest a 10 gauge wire. If there is a 50 amp start up surge and it settles in the 30 amp range 12 gauge wire would be fine. -
I got mine yesterday.

Looking for 1917 Buick D-45 headlights
Larry Schramm replied to Karejorgen's topic in Buick - Pre War
I do not believe that the headlight ring is correct. -
We were requested to bring our '15 truck to a car show at the GM Component plant in Grand Rapids last weekend where we showed the truck and gave rides. (request was made by friends in the Camaro club that work at the plant). We also had a tour of the plant where they make rear axles, roller lifters, and a number of other components. We had a good time. For our effort, we received this ring gear.

Another '58 Caballero

Welcome. Really, where in Alabama are you located? Is there any documentation with the car or sticker on which dealer sold the car? I used to be the service rep for Buick in Ala in the 80's. -

Out side door handle required by law?

The problem with annual inspections IMO is that they can give the owner a false sense of security that everything on their car is good. Most owners have a sense that their vehicle might have issues and may drive accordingly, but if an inspector says a vehicle is "good" they may drive more assertively. Plus I had family in PA and the joke for years was that it seemed every time they had a vehicle inspected it needed either brakes or shocks. So much for the credibility for fair inspections.
