  1. I live less than 20 miles from this build. When’s the barn raising party?
  2. There will be more advice from others soon, but one thing I always do when getting aggressive with a stubborn hub is put the nut back on at the very end... it will leave room for things to start moving and also: a) keep the hub/puller from violently landing in your lap and b) limit the damage you do to the end of the axle shaft. Beyond that, sometimes you just need to get a bigger hammer.
  3. I have used soft copper tube cut a little bit longer than the flange you are going through. When you tighten the nuts it will behave like a crush gasket. This is assuming you have space in the hole and the size works out. It won’t work with a lock washer.
  4. My youngest daughter and I went for a ride with my parents today.
  5. I can’t imagine I will be buying but for a hundred bucks and a two hour drive... might just go.
  6. There is a bit of art to tuning a horn to get the sound just right, but getting it to make sound is usually as simple as breaking loose all parts that are intended to move.
  7. I really only saw maybe five I would want... and I couldn’t afford the buyers premium, much less the price... on any of them.
  8. This was on Facebook. 1930 Graham. Looks like an ok car for $11,000. Morgantown, IN.
  9. I believe what he is looking for has a pressed dish to the middle of the oblong washer. Years ago We had hundreds in our parts stash but I think all are long gone.
  10. Someone will certainly want it. My guess is that frame will never be a car again but there are large parts collections where relics like this go to wait for their next life. It is possible that the axles are restorable and with hubs it could end up a project. Allowing a buyer to bring a shovel would be a good idea. If looking to make it disappear, post an ad in the cars for sale section. I would price it around 500 bucks, or just enough money to keep it together. It is possible that more money could be had but not enough to justify putting a ton of your time into squeezing a few hundred more dollars. thanks for posting and please help it get to someone that will save it... you will make a little bit of money along the way.
  11. What part of the country is this frame in?
  12. Every year I say I am going to take $600.00 of my Hershey vending proceeds over to the AACA tent and pay for a life membership. Every year I take home more parts than I brought and am not a life member.
  13. Have you tried @George Albright the very early and obscure seems to be his passion.
  14. but the ad says the brakes work and the car runs and drives 100%. I hate to have been a naysayer on a car a guy likes and know I have been, but I like it to and it didn’t take long for me to lose all warm and fuzzy feelings about pursuing it.
  15. I would never anything done, aside from scrubbing my hands every time I needed something.

    20's frame

Mid to late 20’s Hupmobile had a lot of similarities to this one.
  17. I have a love for Cartercars. We had two, 1907/1908, a roadster and a touring. The touring never really got sorted out but that roadster was a rocket for its era. Friction drive was easy to get the hang of and it could accelerate well enough that nobody was really waiting behind you when driving through town. I want to take a spin in one of the 4cyl cartercars some day. The 2cyls were fast and powerful compared to most other 2cyl cars.
  18. honestly, that is the kind of review that needs to be public.
  19. I like the car, but that seems like strong bidding for it on eBay.... All things considered.
  20. Oddly, when you look at the cost to put rubber on a 25 inch wheel, todays price is almost exactly the old price times the inflation. The tube price times inflation comes to about half what I paid the last time.
