  1. That truck would be a perfect second Dodge for you to have your son completely wear out a set of tires on.
  2. The wrong word spelled correctly is the true evil.
  3. Sadly, yes. Nearly on topic: I once found a spare tire for my suburban while searching Craigslist for home brew supplies. The tire was barley used!
  4. I am completely sold. Can I have two at whatever 1956 msrp is?
  5. I took my father with me to look at a Packard tonight. It was cheap and my expectations were low... but still too lofty. All new wiring: several rolls of electrical tape. Body is in good condition: rotten to the core... rust through above windows... don’t get me started on the bottom side. New tires: Walmart radials on an old car. Runs and drives: loudest Packard I have ever heard that wasn’t a racing boat with a brake dragging enough that all you had to do to stop was push in the clutch. (The modern edelbrock 4 barrel on a 288 did peak my curiosity... but who straight pipes a Packard). I really was hoping to find a car worth the cheap asking price... I found a car I wouldn’t offer 1/3rd of the price on.... for fear they would say yes. Do sellers not realize it is their own time they are wasting?
  6. I had never really read up on Edward Payson Weston... cross country walk in 100 days in the same year Alice Ramsey drove it in 59 days. Now when I look at the picture that man looks bigger than the White he stands next to.
  7. I just read a Facebook ad for a car with no rust that comes with new quarter panels. By the pics, it needs those quarter panels because a rat must have chewed 10% of the old ones off.
  8. The OP has not been on the forums for four years. It is possible that a pm or tag @rsteere will send an email prompt.
  9. Someone should correct him on the reality of the situation. First: we are complex idiots. Second: by the time we have enough cars to be collectors, most of the money is gone.
  10. perhaps we are looking at Mitt Romney’s vw?
  11. Closest thing I can think of is Greenfield Village... not nearly enough roads and the only time I know of that they let people drive around... they let a lot of people drive around and there is more traffic than downtown Detroit!
  12. https://www.amazon.com/Williams-471-Adjustable-Spanner-Wrench/dp/B001DNT2W0 I am shocked how easy that was. But... I honestly prefer a bar across catching two sides to a spammer on the outside pulling on one.
  13. As previously stated, any flat stock that fits well will do the job. I have never had an issue getting one off (a tire iron works great) but have put some work into getting them tightened enough to not leak... this is where a proper fitting piece of stock really helps. Most are designed for a crush gasket that you won’t have new of, some are just iron on iron.
  14. the Chevrolet script was 14 and 15 (not sure about 16 on. The 14 and 15 were different, on one the script was indented and on the other the script came out as in the one you have pictured. I remember searching the world for both although we only needed whichever was 15... but that was a lot of years ago.
  15. You are right! I pulled the images based on location of display. Essentially, when I found a pic looking at a K straight on I Googled the next image with the museum name added. I jumped too soon.
  16. The couple thousand dollars in shipping would take the economy out of the planter plan... I suppose it could be shipped open, so perhaps only one $1,004.04 plus 300 in flowers.
  17. At $4.04, I would even pay to have it shipped here, drop it in my back yard, and plant flowers in it. Would bring me more years of joy than anyone who paid to restore it could possibly expect to get.
  18. We have a plumber/electrician/pastor that shows up on a lot of jobs I am on. Rumor is the church would be bankrupt if he didn’t live off of the agreed upon pastor salary and have all checks for his work made out to the church. Insanely good guy.
