Folding garage, anyone have experience with one?
LARRYCAROL replied to trimacar's topic in General Discussion
Yes make sure you secure it very well!! This one from Harbor Freight had very poor quality fabric, didn’t last very long. -
Used car lot of local Chevrolet dealer. Lot is no longer used as they moved mile closer to highway. Newest car I see is 57 wagon so picture is late 50s?

I learned in our driveway on my 57 metropolitan. In the mid 70s I tried to teach my wife on our vw squareback. Thought she had gotten it so one day I insisted she drive . She was not happy, possibly because she had skirt and high heels, but I insisted. Doing 35 mph we hit railroad tracks and car launched into the air. She down shifted into first gear and let out the clutch . My poor engine was screaming and so was I 😳. She never tried again. Car and I survived.

I went to our local town car show last week, saw very early mustang convertible w/260 v8. Stopped and talked with owner who seemed happy that I appreciated his original car. So when you see something you like make sure to tell the owner. You may make their day! 😎

I believe this is my Dad’s Plymouth coupe’ . Girl on left is Mom 😎. No sure of year of car but caption says 1939(2yrs) before they married. Radiator cap looks like Dodge? But in those days originality was not important 😄

Treat your wife to a spa day at Hershey Hotel! My wife and daughter in law went once and loved it! Then find a nice restaurant.

I also bring extra socks & change them midday. Refreshes your tired feet! Don’t miss the car corral even if you’re not buying. Friday show is the best!! -
That piece of metal looks like it’s from a ball bearing. That means input shaft or output shaft bearing. If noise in only when driving then it’s output bearing. I have heard similar noises from bearings when cage broke like that. If all else is working one bearing, gaskets and seals, back on the road.

If your engine has egr system they can affect h/c readings. Valve or passages partial clogging can cause those readings and don’t always cause fault code. -
1954 Nash Healey LeMans Coupe

Straightening tie rod will definitely make a difference, also grease king pins and linkages and steering box. Drive and see if you feel any difference. It would be great to put a few miles on it! -
I would say 1968 judging by tail lights 😎. They had side reflectors after that.

At dealership where I worked spare was to be checked on every car that came in. Then VW stopped putting spares in some models

Weird findings while working at a repair shop
LARRYCAROL replied to jp1gt's topic in General Discussion
In 1970 I was working at Chevy dealer & brand new pickup came in with bad oil leak. Turned out factory didn’t install top part on rear main seal. In late 80’s I was working at VW dealer and we had a Jetta with strange misfire on #3 cyl. They changed parts even pulled cam to check valve springs. Nothing helped. Finally they pulled the manifolds to check for carbon on valves. Found casting slag partially blocking intake runner. What should have been inch & half opening was only about 3/8 inches. Lot of wasted time on that one! -
My wife and I were told we could park at handicapped lot by giant center if we came early. We arrived at 8am and were told lot was full. Ended up at chocolate world. Unloaded my wife’s scooter and went to the show. Long ride took toll on battery but she found a plug at library that they let her use.
