  1. I can usually digest all the info and figure it out. I do understand chemical reactions but this is a tough one. I have never had a car with an erosion problem but I am into preventive maintenance. Is is safe to say that a magnesium anode might help but will not hurt a cooling system? did a little research, zinc or mag?
  2. I started out with a 65 mustang fastback, went through a lot of mopars, bought a 08 shelby GT, then anything that went fast quickly. Then I got an idea that I wanted a classic phaeton, way different than anything else. Having a lot of fun with it, met some neat people, learning a lot of things. At 70 just hope I can finish the project!
  3. I have a friend that did not set the parking brake good enough on a dump truck and it went THROUGH the house below---
  4. Don't know anything about the supercharger on the cord. Is it mounted on the back behind the carb?
  5. If nothing else works get a pair of needle nose pliers, but make sure the contact is perfect
  6. First of all I would remind them of who you are. I think a free part would be the honorable thing to do. That is why now days you have to ask them what am I getting out of it before you send them the part or info. If you are the one fabricating the part or process you have a right to be compensated for your time and trouble. Some people are not in the position to be so generous.
  7. there are many places to take a nice dive in SoCal. Near palm springs the weather and temp changes very quickly. Joshua Tree in Dec can be quite cold as my wifes horse friends find out. A very cool drive is Hwy 74 from palm desert to hemet. It is a CA scenic hwy. The temp change is dramatic. In the mountains. 5000ft you can need your heater and in the desert, 45min away you need your A/C. If someone wants to try the drive in the summer, we live in Garner Valley. Not too well known unless you have a horse. Anyway lets have a BBQ some time!
  8. I spent some time looking and could not find the post. Can you give it to me again?
  9. I am having one made for my cad. the difficult thing is to have the bend around the back and on the side where the to iron goes. I have an original cad piece and where the side starts to go down they have a bunch of long "dovetails" so that part can be bent in any angle. By the way what kind of wood did they use. The cabinet maker that is doing the job says white oak is the best price to make this out of.
  10. I would say he did influence me a little. I normally am attracted to fast cars but a classic was in my bucket list. Father had 52 classic and brass cars at different times but unfortunately he was not a good father
  11. I have had good luck with products that you mix sand like stuff and super glue, just coating the whole thing with it.
  12. I think it is a rust bucket
  13. I know what some of the stuff is worth, way overpriced
  14. The mirrors must be some kind of aftermarket acc. My car came in boxes, this is what I have so that is what will use, I just want to get the car so I can drive it! thanks for the info--
