  1. Gee, it seems that every area of the convertible top on my wildcat simply directs water INTO the car. It was much better with the old 40 year old seals installed than the new ones.... Probably user error.
  2. It's just that easy! I for one, welcome Buick Opel's into the BCA fold and hope that a group petitions for just that.

    First Question

I love the Opel GTs as well, but problem is in my neck of the woods (Cincinnati, OH), there is a problem with the GT's suspension. It sits too close to the ground and on the ground around here is moisture and salt. hence, the local ones are rather rusty, or at least every one I ever looked at. I still hope to own one someday while I can still climb in and out of it!
  4. I am looking for a license plate frame and dealer badge from HOCK'S Buick in Cincinnati, OH. 1960s era. Please PM me if you have anything. Thanks,
  5. no one stop shop. Try ClassicBuicks, CARS (oldbuickparts.com), and continue searching on Ebay.
  6. I realize this was a tough decision, but I have to raise my objection here as well. $45 for a child meal just to be able to sit at the table with their parents is a BIG problem with the BCA and I'm one of your supporters when it comes to everything else. Kids are the future of this club....ANYTHING that makes the nationals less family friendly is going to have a long term negative impact. Everything that goes into a national should be looked at through the lens of "family friendly".
  7. 1965 Wildcat Convertible -Roxanne As in the beautiful woman Sting sings about. 1959 Invicta 4dr ht - Lucille Named after BB King's guitar, another beautiful woman... 1958 Chevy Pickup Truck - Baby It needs a lot of babying and it was originally a baby blue. 1969 Electra 225 - Deuce - When I brought it home, my wife said it looked like someone left a big turd in the driveway. That and it's a deuce and a quarter. 1922 Model T - Lizzie - as most of you know, these are colloquially known as the Tin Lizzie.
  8. These are rare, but not that rare. I've managed to pick up 4 of them over the years. I have 2 that still have the cardboard backer from the dealer display. They were made by the Signa-Craft Companyof 5th Avenue, NY. The cardboard backer if rather simple with a header that says "Dream car keys" all years, pat pending. Your price is about right, but something seems wrong with the shipping calculator. This should be a $2-$5 item to ship depending on first class or priority, but your calculator is showing $20 to ship to me.
  9. Everyone I know has a whole PILE of Round TUITs. i.e. I'll replace that air filter when I get A ROUND TUIT. (around to it)

    Buick

Not counting concept cars, I own my favorite 2 Buicks of all time. The 1959 4 door hardtop and the '65 Wildcat Convertible. I also believe that the '39,'40,'41 cars are beautiful and used to own a '40 Special. I'm not brave enough to venture into brass era, but you certainly can't count out any of those. As far as newer cars, the Reatta was a wonderful experiment and wish I still had my '90. Lastly, I hope to own 1961 Invicta Custom someday. That is a beautiful car (as is the '62 Skylark) If we're to include concept cars, then I'll pick the Y-job and the '54 Wildcat II.
  11. I was going through my manuals and ads and found an undated ad for the Opel Olympia Rekord and Caravan. (might be from 1957?) At the bottom of the back page it states "The big small car built in germany by General Motors*Sold and serviced by Buick dealers"
  12. I agree that Opel should be allowed as a Division of the BCA. I personally love the Opel GT and was first turned on to it because it was in Buick Literature. There is really nothing the BCA board can do until a group of 10 or more Opel owners petition for Divisional Status. That's how we created the 1959 Division and it helped bring a HUGE turnout to the 2009 Meet! Sold by Buick, Marketed by Buick. Period. I think if they desire, the judging should be the same as modified and Reatta. Peer Judged in their own category. I can't imagine that would be all that hard. As far as Opel owners not having anything in common with Buick owners and not wanting to be a part of the BCA? How much does a brass era buick owner have in common with a T-Type owner??? It's been said many times before....it's not the cars that keep us coming back, it's the people. Inclusive is good and does not damage the brand or dilute the quality.
  13. How about some pictures of that '65 Cat?

  19. I LOVE this idea.....can you share some photos?
  20. My transmission doesn't leak when driven regularly, but will leave a small puddle if left to sit. The torque ball however, didn't enjoy the trip to Colorado Springs and appears to now be in need of repair/replacement as my gas tank is covered with oil.....but that appears to be coming from the rear end side of the seal. I'm not looking forward to either doing that repair or paying someone to do it.
  21. Thanks for the heads up Adam...I'll have to find a newsstand and pick me up a copy! Any decent coverage of the '69 Electra?
  22. Is Ted going to bring a Car Hauler full??? I'll add it to the Calendar and see if I can make it with my driver quality convertible.
  23. Same Car. My grandfather died when I was 15 and I inherited his 1965 Buick Wildcat 2 dr sedan (which I had been driving since I was 12). Bucket seats, ironing board console, vinyl top, wire wheel covers, originally black vinyl top over red, repainted gray about 8 years before I got it. Mint interior. That was 1988. Car was totaled and engine destroyed by 1989.
