What is this Hi-Lo trans? I think Ford T or A.
oldford replied to midnite2336's topic in What is it?
If you have the 5:1 rear in your AA, like I have in mine, and you needed lower gears, you could put a Dual High box between the transmission and the rear universal. You may have an intermediate shaft there now. The Dual High would replace the intermediate shaft. PM me if you need one... Frank -

I've owned this EMF for about 10 years and have never had trouble. The engine and rear end were rebuilt before purchased and now has new 33 x 4 tires. This strong tourer has been on many tours including New England Brass Gas and EMF outings. Strong running engine. Once owned by Henry Austin Clark (have documentation) $45,000 OBO. Can bring to Hershey... Frank Iaccino 518-755-0986.

The 'hi' was straight through and the 'lo' was underdrive and used for the Model AA trucks. If you had the 7:1 rear and put it in 'lo', you could move a house... Frank -
Auction that pipe dreams are made of
oldford replied to Dave Mellor NJ's topic in General Discussion
I also attended, hoping to bring home the AA panel delivery. I thought the price was high, but what do I know... Especially since they either could not or would not start the car. There was a rather round gent on the side of the tent on a cell phone that seemed to be talking to a far away bidder that bid on EVERY car, but then mysteriously dropped out just before the car sold. Didn't sit well with me... Frank -
Definitely Model A...

It is my understanding that John Regan sold Fun Projects and may not be answering emails from his old address. Maybe if you sent an email from the Fun Project's web site... Just a thought... Frank

What is the big roadster in the right back ground of the photo?
oldford replied to nzcarnerd's topic in What is it?
I think the large touring car next to the roadster is the Marmon, not sure about the roadster... Frank -
The car in question appears to be a 1915, due to the flat fenders and brass topped round side lights. I could be a 1916, but I'd have to see the radiator to tell for sure. 1916 radiators were steel... Frank

ES indicates it's a 27 Big Six. Also, since it has 6 lug wheels, it's a Big Six. The headlights are quite correct. The Big six had much smaller headlights than the Standard six. That strange electrical set-up is simply the fuse box. The exhaust manifold is missing the warm air connection to the carburetor. This one has the hard to find Ball & Ball Carb. That tall Delco distributor is even harder to find. Some nice useable parts on that chassis... Frank

According to the Truck Spotter's Guide, Ruggles were made from 1920 to 1928 in Saginaw MI. They made everything from Canopy Express to Bus. Frank

Identification of 1930's Cowl or Fender Lights
oldford replied to unclemiltie's topic in General Discussion
I know Reo Royale in 31 had a similar fender light. I think they were Depress Beam lenses.. More photos needed. Frank -
Sorry, Many other mechanical parts, but no air pump. I have the air pump gears... Frank

They are side lights that would bolt to the cowl on a car. Frank

I seem to remember one similar that had a glass bottle with top cylinder oil that was clamped between the cone at the bottom and the round area above it. It was then syphoned using engine vacuum. Frank

It looks like a NY Thruway plate. The Thruway is the name of Interstate 87 and 90 that goes from NYC to Buffalo. Still has tolls, but in the '60s you could buy a plate from Motor Vehicles that gave you passage either without tolls or with reduced tolls, I can't remember which. Frank
