  1. Great! this is just what I needed. Maybe we can meet and I'll buy you lunch... Frank
  2. Just a quick question... I have a chance to see the Harrah Museum in Sparks this April and might be able to catch the swap meet in Bakersfield. How good is it for early stuff? On another forum, everyone raved about Chickasha but I found it mixed. The good stuff was inside and available via catalogs and the rest was outside and fit for the junk man. Don't get me wrong, but I've thrown out better stuff and most looked like it came from the bottom of a creek... Frank
  3. On second thought, there are 8 hub bolts, if so, NOT a Ford.
  4. Looks more like a Ford. The headlights suggest a 1911 or 12.
  5. If the photo was clearer, we could debate. I'm going to guess that if it is an EMF, It would be more like a 1912, since there appears to be a horizontal line showing the top of the driver's door. Also, the radiator also appears to be body color. If it was an '09, the radiator would have been brass. I'm having a little trouble with the front axle. My EMF has a dip in the center of the front axle and this one appears to be straight. The nameplate on the radiator just doesn't look like the EMF Thirty nameplate. I wish the photo was clearer.... This is a 12 Demi Tonneau
  6. Still available, surely someone can use this engine....
  7. Layden, I think you nailed it. Below are photos of the axle on my 1910 EMF. I tried to take photos from the same view... I rotated them so they are upside down. Frank
  8. 1928 Studebaker Commander Frank
  9. For the large I've been trying to figure this one out... Number 49 by Leif's numbering. How about a 1937 Pontiac 6. Not too many cars in this era had the hood come down over the front to meet the grill, and had a v windshield and discrete headlamps similar to a 36 Ford.
  10. My experience has always sent me to places like Munro Muffler or similar shops. I find they can and will custom bend pipes if you are willing to give them time. It will cost a little more than off the shelf parts, but is may work for you... Frank
  11. I have read the letters posted on the Museum's site and I think I can put a basic time line together, even if only one side is available. Just on item jumps out at me as puzzling... I'll quote it here from the Museum's response: "Finally, during our meeting of November 21st our Board overwhelmingly voted to remove Tom Cox as a member of our Board under section 2.6.2 of our bylaws. Please note the motion, as adopted, does NOT eliminate the “AACA Position Director” from our Board. Therefore, you (as President of the AACA) or another designee of your choice are welcome to fill the now vacant slot." Did Tom Cox stir the pot? Was he part of the reason for the division? I don't know Mr. Cox, but it seems odd that the Museum would remove him from the Board, only to ask that he be replaced... Frank
  12. I guess I read them just in time. Obfuscation anyone???
  13. I have been, up til now, somewhat quiet on the issue. Someone on the first page asked if the cause was egos or money... Since the above links only show one side of the story, my guess is egos... Maybe I'm missing something, but the info I read from the Museum sounded reasonable. Frank
  14. Per "Shorpy" - Mercedes Simplex
  15. Looks like Babe Ruth... found this photo on Google: I think it's the same car... The homerun king is an ardent motorist, often traveling from city to city in his car instead of going by train with the Yankees. Taking out some of his youthful admirers for a spin in his speedy Packard roadster after the game. -- April 28th, 1921.
  16. I found this flyer of a 1927-28 Reo Junior. According to the Truck Spotter's Guide, it was styled after the Wolverine and was rated at 1/2 ton capacity. Frank
  17. At first glance, I thought it might be a 1912 EMF, but the dropped frame rules that out. Maybe a 1912 Cadillac. I found photos of a 1911 Caddy with the dropped frame, but no front doors. Did 1912's have the dropped frame? Frank I just found this image of a 1911 with front doors and dropped frame..
  18. Me thinks they are 1920-1921 Overlands with their famous Tri-plex front spring... Frank
  19. Can someone clarify? The activity request card show cars 1932 and older are allowed while the Nov/Dec magazine show cars 1932 and newer are allowed. Which is it??? Frank
  20. 1912 fiat I stand corrected...
  21. I found this advertisement of the car and a similar emblem, but the word Overland was replace by Wyllis on the hubcap of the car my brother had. It was a seven passenger touring and was quite large... Note the lack of louvers and the raised rectangle on the hood sides.
  22. I remember quite some time ago, my brother had a 1918 Willys 6 (Model 89) with that same hubcap. It has a large '6' with the name 'Willys' across. I have a photo of it someplace, but can't find it right now. Frank
  23. 1912 EMF (just a swag...) Frank
