NC1968Riviera
Two new classic Buick slides have been added to my archive. These images are from two 1942-era Kodachrome color slides. The colors in these slides is as vibrant as the day they were taken. Watermarks are mine. Featured is a great two tone gray (or silver and black) 1941 Buick Super Coupe with a 1942 Ohio license plate and cool fender skirts! Locations where these shots were taken is unknown to me. If anyone recognizes the locations, please let me know. One shot has a soldier sitting in the passenger side of the car. The other shot is a 3/4 view of the car parked on a bridge (?). EmTee
That's a cool picture -- and judging from the number of oil spots on the pavement it was quite popular!

neil morse
This is a still from another one of those fascinating vintage video clips -- this one from New York City in 1945. A lot of interesting cars to look at -- another '42 Buick flashes by at about 4:10.

Not 100% sure but I think the louvers in the trunk was a '71 year only ? A Riv Guy might fill us in . Also not sure what they were used for. dship
'71 Riviera was the only year that had trunk louvers. They were part of the air pressure flow through ventilation system. Future years you most likely see vents housed on the inside door frames where the door latch gizmos are.
EmTee
Those louvers were '71-only on all of GM'S full-size and E-bodies. They were notorious for leaking rainwater into the trunk. They were gone for '72.
