Hey Matt:

It's really coming together....before you put the headliner in, can you take a shot of the underside of the roof showing the clips and nuts with the 3M caulk strip applied.  I'm repairing some roof rot on my Cabo and (eventually) will be removing/reinstalling my roof strips too.

Non sequitur:  Years ago I had a rear sway bar made for my '57....now corners VERY flat.  If you want photos, let me know and I'll take some.

Thanks,

David Daggett

Man you're rockin' it.  All you guys that get all this done in your home garage are amazing.  I spend so much time whining about needing a bigger shop and chasing after it, that I don't get much done to the cars.  Nice work!

When installing the trim, especially on the roof, I wrapped each fastener with cord seal and used a 10-24 nut with a rubber seal to prevent water from entering the car.

I have also always used the putty around the trim.  These cars don't hold up to corrosion the way new ones do, so it's an easy source of peace of mind, even if it's rare they'll see rain!
