1910 Wyatt - a craigslist find with title, not authentic, but priced accordingly.

Anybody know anything about the 1910 Wyatt on craigslist. It is a put together car, according to the post. I can't find anything on the car.  How long it was in production, where it was built, how many were built. Go to CA, Inland Empire on craigslist to see a picture. Thanks Jim

I think this is not a genuine historical vehicle,

but a "creation" with a name all its own.  The "1910"

date is doubtful.  The Craig's List ad above states,

"THIS CAR WAS PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY A CABNIT [sic] MAKER

WHO BUILT THE BODY. THE REST OF CAR IS MADE UP OF

1910 AUTO PARTS, WHEELS, SUSPENSION ECT. [sic] POWERED

BY 10 HORSE BRIGGS AND STRATON MOTOR. IT HAS FOWARD

AND REVERSE AND TRAVELS ABOUT 25MPH. KEY START,

AHUGA HORN. MOTOR IS NEW AND RUNS GREAT. TITLE IS

CLEAN AND PINK SLIP IN HAND."  Asking price is only $3500!

The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942 is your

friend when researching any pre-war vehicle, even the most

obscure.  However, it lists briefly only a "Wyatt & Listman"

company from New York City, organized in 1908 with a

small amount of capital.  "Manufacture is doubted," it says.

Picking parts out of the photo. Briggs engine. Not 1910. Steering column and steering wheel is Model T Ford. Also on the wrong side for an early car other than Ford. Everything else was right hand drive. Rear end looks like a Ruckstell which is aftermarket for Model T Ford. Most likely one that is geared down to compensate for the lack of power. Rear spring is also Model T Ford. Wheels and Tires. I bet they're also 30 X 3 or 30 X 3'5. yup. Model T Ford. I think we have a theme going here.... Dandy Dave.

Interesting to note that the owner was able to title it as a 1910 Wyatt.

Blurry picture yes, but that is the position on a California title for year and make and it says 1910 Wyatt.

  • Peter Gariepy changed the title to 1910 Wyatt - a craigslist find with title, not authentic, but priced accordingly.

I think the question about whether a Wyatt car was built and how many has been answered. My guess is that Wyatt may have been the name of the individual that created this one-off car.

My guess is that seat started life out as a rear seat of something quite early.

It is neat and it is priced in the range of an ok used golf cart.  If you had a 300 foot long front yard this guy would seriously add smiles to the daily trip to the mailbox.
