neil morse
Be still my heart! That Chrysler looks like an astonishing deal. Yet another great MoPar. If I had room for more than one car, I would be sorely tempted.

neil morse
Yes, and the Hudson and the Nash look awfully good, too, although a bit more expensive than the Chrysler and the Pontiac. Time to get down to Shreveport before this guy changes his mind! 😄
daniel boeve
Wow , that Pontiac looks very good! leather interior ! I have a friend here in Belgium who bought same Pontiac model but a 4 door .If it was not for the corona disaster and that i just bought a car before lock down i would be tempted to send it over to Belgium .Got it home last day before lock down so i can work on it now while we are in lock down and cannot leave the house or test drive one of the old cars .Police will stop us and a 300$ fine to pay on the spot .
StillOutThere
This is an estate sale and the widow needs to move the cars out. They are indeed very attractively priced to sell.
Hudsy Wudsy
That Hudson is a Commodore 8 with a Hydramatic ( the C/L ad says three speed incorrectly). Last year for the wonderful eight cylinder and the last year for the Commodore name. Hudsy Wudsy
Here's a link to the C/L Hudson listing. It looks to be a beauty. What a wonderful, torquey, whisper-quiet freeway loving car. Something that a lot of you might not know about Hudson Step Downs is that in designing the body, engineers went to great lengths to diminish air drag on the body. If you get a chance to see one up close you'll notice rubber flange-like moldings mounted between the fenders and the doors. These were placed there to help fill that gap and create a slip-stream effect over a part of the body which would otherwise drag against the airflow. Likewise, similar treatment was placed between the doors. The net effect of this is that a Step Down body really is very quiet at highway speeds. I used to demonstrate to others how easily you could have a conversation at a normal volume with the windows rolled all of the way down at 60 MPH. It's been too many years for me to recall any specific figures, but I recall that they had a significantly low drag coefficient. https://shreveport.craigslist.org/cto/d/bossier-city-hudson-commadore-8/7096462938.html There's lots more pictures in the ad: Edited March 30, 2020 by Hudsy Wudsy (see edit history)
John S.
I owned a 1949 Commodore 8 coupe many years ago. It was a very impressive road car. This Hudson is a great deal for the money!

Brooklyn Beer
Like the colors on the 1950 Chrysler. Very comfortable car to drive with the semi auto transmission and a very dependable car I have found out as well. You know your driving a very solid car by feel. Mopar prices still amaze me. There is a 52 Imperial I saw where the owner changed colors on the car and put in aftermarket Green Highlander Plaid to his taste.

As far as I can tell, the listings for the '50 Newport, the '52 Imperial, the '48 Plymouth, the '54 Nash, and two trucks are still current. I guess the Hudson and the Pontiac sold.
