Gary_Ash
We just bought a 1941 Studebaker Commander Deluxe Tone Land Cruiser to add to the flock of my other Studebakers. Dennis and Denise Dupont restored the car some years ago, but it has been carefully maintained and is as clean as a whistle. My wife and I had taken our 1948 Studebaker M5 pickup on a recent VMCCA tour in Ohio, and after 500 miles of touring decided we need a more comfortable sedan for touring with the pre-war car groups. The '41 Commander seats six, has a 226 cubic inch flathead six with overdrive transmission, and can cruise the highway at reasonable speeds. Raymond Loewy did the designs for the '41 Studebakers. This is the first antique car I have bought that didn't require a complete rebuild - it needs nothing! The whitewall tires were standard equipment in 1941. Now we can even drive it long distances to meets and tours. Wave if you see us on the highway. TerryB
It must be Studebaker week! Great looking car.
Paul Dobbin
Nice looking Studebaker! We hope to see it on tours. Your reasoning for going to a 4 door sedan is exactly why we did. Having passengers make touring more fun.

zepher
Most 40's cars don't excite me but that Studebaker sure looks nice! Congrats on picking up such a great example. Enjoy your tours.
Dosmo
The shape of your Land Cruiser's body shell resembles the Cadillac from a year to two earlier. Kudos! Great looking ride! Studebakers of this era had great styling.

avantey
Nice Stude Gary! So can I plan on one less trailer at the Glidden in Saratoga next year? Should be an easy drive for that Stude! Bill

JimKB1MCV
Dennis offered to sell me the 41 Commander when he first decided to sell it, a year ago last April. I had just bought another car when I got his letter offering it at a price I would have payed. I had to pass on the offer, I'm at my two car max limit. As you probably know, its rare that Dennis sells any car. Enjoy the car, its a very nice one.
Lebowski
The car looks great. How many other Studes are in your "flock" besides this one and the M5? Edited July 28, 2019 by Lebowski (see edit history)
