Maybe these guys- I've used them for 65 stuff - had to be cut to fit but turned out nice. Beltline weatherstrip.

While you have the electric motors out I would take them apart and lube the gears,  check the armature contacts and test run the electric motor.

I helped a friend with a 69 Electra fix his driver door window motor last September.

Looking good!

Hello and thank you for the internet link and for the information ;)
The problem is that there are no photos of the product for sale :(
And I would have liked to see what it looks like before buying .
Are these two announcements the same ?

https://www.rubbertherightway.com/1969-buick-restoration-parts-beltline-47387-prd1.htm

I think on the second link it is the inner seal and not the outer seal.
And it doesn't have the same shape.
Mine is flat and it attaches to the chrome strip on the door.

The four window motors work very well and do not make any abnormal noise, so I have it and left it on their support.
But on the other hand, I have completely greased everything as well as the motor pinion on the main ring gear :)

Did you have a photo of your friend's Electra ? :)

Did you try sending them an email with a picture of an example?  I have found them to be pretty helpful.

The typical English term for the material used for those end caps is "pot metal".  Plated trim made from that cast metal are notorious for pitting as they age.

SAM_0435.JPG.2fce54244afcada714401d8f521

The only remedy is to have them re-chromed, which is expensive because the pieces first need to be stripped, then the pits need to be filled (e.g., with brass).  Then the repair is sanded smooth, copper plated, sanded again, then sent through the rest of the plating process.  I know how you feel, particularly since you're restoring this car to such a high level.  All I can suggest is if you can't afford to do it now, you can always wait until the car is finished and then take care of little things like that later, after you've had time to enjoy driving the car.  ;)

I'm sorry I didn't see your post :( , thank you very much for the explanation.
I contacted a company to redo this part chrome and they must give me a quote :)

Merry Christmas, happy new year 2022 and good health to everyone !! :)

Here is the rest of the work :) .

So I continued by the door mechanisms on the driver's side.

Lubrication of the compass with its mechanism, motor pinion and rail

SAM_0472.JPG.58c2c819d31241e063b53a79d70dbe47.JPG

Then reassembly of the engines with its compass, as well as the rails. Then cleaning the connectors and cables.

Then I took care of the other four window guides (two per door)

SAM_0477.JPG.7139981b0163e0104749df5bf9cc2e13.JPG

Undressing

SAM_0481.JPG.652dc88da15abae0e9b5b92c040787ec.JPG

Then apply a zinc-based primer

SAM_0482.JPG.96319fbf0e05d6dfa62acc6dcba4cd5f.JPG

As well as on the screws

SAM_0485.JPG.2007fa3873a9d01f3bb950040cbb8db7.JPG

Two screws are missing because they were completely rusted and I had to cut them to get the guide out, so I replaced these two screws afterwards.

Then application of anodized color paint bringing it closer to the origin.

(a guide is damaged because of the rust that there was, but nothing serious)

SAM_0487.JPG.4f9fc648cce1368b5ae38d5621d6652f.JPG

Then dressing of the guides

SAM_0489.JPG.228300de8c0395a446870f1f213c7b94.JPG

Then set up (I will take a photo when everything is reassembled)

Then I took out of the box the last elements that remained to be reassembled for the doors (rear door on the driver's side)

SAM_0491.JPG.aea5a2a2efbca6aa738167f36f278287.JPG

Funny things, one of the other four window guides isn't anodized like the others

On the other hand, I apologize for the poor quality of the photos, my camera is starting to have problems :(

SAM_0494.JPG.6edfa37f29aac635d6b915c986267bfb.JPG

Then a person I know in France restores a 1968 Buick Riviera and he had the air distributor redone by 3D printing on the bulkhead in the engine compartment. I had made one out of metal, but in case I also ordered one to have it. I'm really happy with the result, it's clean, solid and precise :)

SAM_0499.JPG.acbc523427b539cd6b94543e3db888e2.JPG

SAM_0500.JPG.4ad2a4e30352182d5bc388279383c78e.JPG

A while ago I had taken a door panel to have it restored, and I called that person back for him took another.

And I realized that the plastic was cracked and damaged at the location of the screw in the hollow where the interior handle is located.

They therefore cut out of a piece of sheet metal of almost 2 mm a piece that fits in this hollow to consolidate the plastic and prevent the screw from passing through the plastic. Then they stuck it and I went there to jointed it with acrylic

IMG-20211020-WA0002.jpg.ee64720554ddbdeef1f3c86505328c6b.jpg

And then they will paint it when they re-tint the plastic to its original color (we can't tell on the photo but the plastic part has yellowed well, whereas originally it is light beige)

I then continued by reassembling certain parts on the two doors on the driver's side, and I continued with this strip from the top of the driver's door

Then I took care of the 4 window guides of the two doors which was unstuck

Then I have only the last window to put on, the one on the rear passenger side, but the problem is that the seal is in bad condition :(

SAM_0581.JPG.85b2c825aedf6336b8cd48e62b256ab7.JPG

And I don't know how to remove it for the change, and the seal that I ordered with all the others, is not the right one.

It is too long (it does not matter I can cut it) and it is not wide enough to be required by the chrome strip and seal the front window :(

SAM_0548.JPG.6c4a381866a1e77962cf65467a1f0737.JPG

So I have to find the right seal as well as those below

It is gaskets which are on the apron and which join the hood to the apron when closed

SAM_0538.JPG.0f626927d6e7d697eb85d9ae1caf98c5.JPG

And the exterior window seal for the 4 windows

Excellent work!  You can often find original new or good used parts on Ebay.  You might keep a lookout there.  Also try Buickfarm.com

Thank you very much lancemb :) , and thank you for the information, I will go see on Ebay and on the site that you advise me :)

Thank you very much Buicknutty :)  , yes the car starts to reassemble, but each small part takes time before being reassembled :)

To tell the story, it's last month, while working on the Buick, I had not yet had time to adjust the carburetor on my 1978 Dodge Monaco.
And talking to a friend who works at the garage / body shop where they painted the Buick for me, my friend suggested that I take the Dodge to him to look at this carburetor.
And the next morning before I went to work I took him the Dodge :)

20211214_073709.jpg.08f48ee503f18c96614856a06f848142.jpg

And when I got there I saw this very nice 1960 Ford Thunderbird convertible which has just been completely repainted, and it comes with good company :)

then the next day he calls me to tell me that the carburetor was full of deposits, and he cleaned it completely.
And I passed it when he settled it (not easy with the fog)

Hello, do you know where I can find 'snap button' screws for my Buick?

Well, there are these: https://www.amazon.com/Glarks-120-Pieces-Stainless-Upholstery-Fastener/dp/B07DHHTZFC/ref=sxin_15_ac_d_mf_br?ac_md=2-1-R2xhcmtz-ac_d_mf_br_br&cv_ct_cx=Snap+Fastener&keywords=Snap+Fastener&pd_rd_i=B07DHHTZFC&pd_rd_r=2f62022f-0ac1-499e-9c45-b0fb2b9b9994&pd_rd_w=IyRe7&pd_rd_wg=IHMHL&pf_rd_p=17756b3a-4504-468b-830d-8b5875afd168&pf_rd_r=1JYSX85GWQ5RQ55AQ46A&psc=1&qid=1642352389&sr=1-1-ed8a42d3-65f1-4884-a3a2-0dd6e83b6876

But, I'm confused like JohnD -- I don't know why those would have been used unless a previous owner had installed a sun shade or some other type of window or package shelf covering.

Thank you EmTee ;)

It is original, the holes in the sheet metal are well done and they are all at the same distance.
I also saw that in the option list there was the J5 option  "Option J5 =  four Custom front and rear shoulder belts $26-53  $26.32 Electra 225 Custom and $52.63 Electra 225 Custom convertible ... "

It was to add belts to the back.
Was it for her ?

That looks to be a user installed set of snaps.  That is not a factory installation, and certainly not for rear shoulder harnesses.  You have done such a nice job on this Electra, please do not put those back in.

Another possibility is a previous owner had a dog and used those snaps to secure a cover to protect the the rear seat from shedding fur and dirty feet.  It is definitely not something that would have been installed by GM.

I agree with John.  They do not belong on the car.  Especially considering they are flat head screws.  Buick would have used Phillips head screws.

Thank you for your responses and your help  :) .
From the beginning I thought it was original and I spent the whole weekend looking for exactly the same screws, but in the end I looked for nothing because it is not original.
I looked on my second Buick Electra that I saved from the car wreckage, and indeed there are not these screws, and the rear parcel shelf is not drilled.

Good evening everyone, here is the rest of the work on the Buick.

So I took care of the electrical harness, with the continued purchase of wires that I needed :)

SAM_0582.JPG.365f27e5cfb0e6b3252f0d08646a9ab9.JPG

Then I continued through the harness under the dashboard.

Originally the wires went into the plastic socket, and probably because of bad connection over time, they had cut the wires, then lengthened and connected to the other without soldering, with tape which began to fall on some

SAM_0584.JPG.95eac2506761fa37b15feb387ba56334.JPG

so I redid it with the same ideas they had, but with the wires welded and put in heat-shrinkable sheath, and removal of the dominoes and replacement with pods which are also sheathed, so that it is removable

SAM_0588.JPG.e93e1dfd292c60feb4797e951ec19e3c.JPG

Then I put a sheath to gather all the wires

SAM_0593.JPG.f9640117a8f0f38112c9a1d7dca97a09.JPG

It's not aesthetic, but at least it doesn't hang under the steering wheel anymore.

I will have to clean, disassemble and sand some parts under the dashboard, and the original insulation behind the dashboard and in good condition (brown foam), so it will stay in place.

Then I removed this relay which had been put under the dashboard to add long-range headlights at the time.

SAM_0601.JPG.710485ec86d273818f08109fe162d693.JPG

Then I took care of my camera, because the image quality was really bad.

And as I had another camera for parts, disassembly

SAM_0602.JPG.b43fa96ca5a19835c2b890c274aad4af.JPG

Then dismantling the other device for parts

20211227_120504.jpg.30e528f58c2663bd0fbe85e5331b7873.jpg

Then change of the sensor / lens, and reassembly :)

And now it's good ! :)

I then continued in the passenger compartment, and I continued through the interior moldings that go around the headlining, with the rear window.

I had it repainted a while ago but it wasn't quite the right original color.

So sanding and painting both sides of the strips

then the night lights

SAM_0707.JPG.f89b1075583b28128e9f17e1d7f58243.JPG

But after cleaning, I realized that the "chrome" color on the plastic is not in good condition.

SAM_0709.JPG.bb04cf0e9a0b1fe7befdff0988fc1b95.JPG

And the inside is a little baked over time

SAM_0711.JPG.c8f76d5726e407e0fcb8d36f0e018503.JPG

So I painted with paint that looks like chrome to model the inside of the pilot lights

SAM_0724.JPG.e42c2de48732493a52a37d19eafdd8b9.JPG

For the interior it's fine, but it's not the same color as the chrome exterior.
And so I ordered some paint that looks like chrome and I should get it this week .

Screw cleaning and painting

SAM_0752.JPG.dd112fcad090d2b8fa40c98eafb4fb88.JPG

Then once the grid was cleaned, I saw that there were lots of small white dots on it and a small scratch

And since I had the paint done as originally when I repainted the dashboard, and it is the same color as the rear parcel shelf ventilation grille, I repainted it :)
