  1. Now that i remember his was a 63 or 64 cant say which year for sure. Just know it did not have the clamshell headlights but a very similar green flame paint job.
  2. Car looks familiar. Was it bought from a person in glendora california?
  3. Bought mine on ebay in 2004 from a man in montana. I spoke to him over the phone prior to bidding and got a gut feeling that he was a straight shooter. He was , and i would imagine still is. the car was exactly as he descibed. I paid 7000 for a unrestored originally burgandy mist ( got a cheap earl shibe red paint job early in its life) white interior 1965 gs. Odometer read 45k. it was a gamble that paid off.....this time.
  4. Cant answer your question ed but im thinking maybe if they did come wider than 6" like maybe 7" and they look like the rivi wheels ,they would accept the deeper beauty ring like the ones on the black rivi and would look just as good. You also answerd a question before i asked which was if a wheel builder could do the modification on an original wheel.thanks for that
  5. Wrong choice of word lol! I meant they are good people
  6. Hoping someone can shed some light on how this man widened these rims with the centerpice being one solid piece all the way from the center hole to the outer rim edge. That one piece is welded to the remaining part of the rim. From what i can see , you would need to cut out the star and painted web portion to achieve desired depth of 7"to accommodate a 4" ring. The beauty rings appear to be 4" to me ,i could be wrong but they do appear deeper than the photo of the mock up Ed posted. I want to do this with my car , any help is very much appreciated.
  7. Welcome . Car is very cool but the brits are even cooler!
  8. Once you get the rest of the moldings on its really gonna pop! Very nice!
  9. Ed, did you end up installing these on your wagon? Did the beauty rings fit without widening the rim ? And last question, what code number are your rims? Thanks
  10. Dick, curious about the rear license plate frame on your former rivi. Is that a factory frame? Because of the top part of the frame, which appears to be a handle to pull down the assembly, it looks specific to the riviera.VERY nice car
  11. Could the knock have been the oil pumps idler gear shaft hitting the crank ? According to russ martin site ( (oiling issues) this happens when they are worn out. He says its repairable. I plan on dropping the oil pan on mine to clean the gunk and check the shaft. Sometimes i get a light knock on start up that fades away when warm. Sounds to me like it could be this issue. Wonder how many have mistaken a rod knock for this?
  12. Was that 362 k without a rebuild? Amazing if so. I have well over 100k on my 65 gs and she still fires up within first revolution and purrs like a baby wildcat?
  13. Randall,im in los angeles . Call this cat. 909-786-5323. Forgot his name .Anytime i ever needed anything for my 65 he had it .always has 2 or 3 rivis in his yard he is parting out. Very easy to deal with prices are reasonable.Located in rancho cucamonga .good luck.
  14. I had the same problem with my 65. Turned out to be corrosion in the factory solenoid wire coupling under the hood by the battery cable juction block. A little cleaning with steel wool solved the problem
  15. MAN I DIG IT!! Never really cared for rallyes till i seen these dressed up,ones. Very creative on the owners part.
  16. Very nice! Like the way he blended the tail lights in. Top notch workmanship. Thanks for posting
  17. The remote truck release in my 65 is vacuum operated. You pull a handle in the glove. Sounds like the 63-64 model year. Always thought it was factory installed , now I have doubts. Would like to see the button type described above if anyone has a picture.
  18. Nice car but I would want to know who did the head work. Also, is that a dent on the rear passenger quarter panel?
