  2. As far as I know, no one reproduces it. Another one of the those unexpected differences between 66/67 and 66 1-year only. Assuming the width is the same, you could cut your wider pedal down a bit to match the shorter pad. No not the most desirable option but it will work and no one will notice.
  3. Well, for 3k I hope he likes it because he'll have it for awhile unless he gets it running. Actually even if it was running its not worth that......IMO, but I know value is very subjective. There isn't $3k worth of sellable parts on it. Plus the market for 70 parts is small.
  4. what do you need from the parts car? I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it.
  5. I believe light fawn or "Dove" kinda like an ivory or off-white was available only on the standard interior and white was not. White was available on the optional vinyl Strato bench interior.
  6. Thanks for posting Gabriel. I had heard about it but that video clearly explains what is going on. Not good news especially for private online sellers looking to clear out unused parts and/or re-coupe costs from past projects. And people will be wondering why Truckers are convoying. I bet ebay's and Paypal's posterior is puckering. I cancelled my listings on ebay. I will not sell using Paypal or other forms of online electronic payment. Maybe this will drive a resurgence of good old fashioned cash and carry swap meets.....if we can afford the gas to get there. 😳 I still prefer doing business at swap meets. Nothing better than face to face commerce!
  7. This is a Great question that I can't speak 100% on at least going from memory which is not what it used to be.....or maybe never was. 🤔 I think with the medium to darker interior colors the deck was color matched to seats such as blue or maroon. A white or ivory interior I think had a black deck since the white may cause too much reflection in the rear glass. Hopefully someone with documentation can confirm.
  8. They sure do have killer styling. Careful what you wish for Pat! 🙂 If you ever get one make sure it doesn't need any work. Horrible to work on compared to a Riv.
  9. Hugo Welcome to the forum and congrats on the 66. Looks like a nice straight black-plate example. That's a well optioned car. There was no door speaker option available. As you probably figured out the headlights are not vacuum powered. electric motor. 66-67 headlamps were some of the most reliable over engineered hidden headlamps of their time. Relays are typically the only problem. Check the bottom of the left axle tube about 3" over from the differential housing. Look for a 2 letter stamp. That will tell you what gear ratio you have an confirm posi. Love the gunmetal color. One of the key performance features of these cars is the variable pitch (switch pitch) torque converter. Make sure it is functioning. Really helps launch the heavy car.
  10. I always liked the styling of T-Birds but never had the opportunity to own one as I hooked up with Rivs very early on. Perhaps if the friend I met while fishing at 14 y/o (who was 15 years older than me) was driving a T-bird instead of an 67 Riviera, I likely would never have never got into Rivs. Funny how a simple meeting at a young age had a major influence on the rest of my life opening doors to many lasting friendships in the Riviera world for decades. In the mid-late 2000s, I almost bought one of the retro designed model 2002-2005 T-birds to replace my 97 Lincoln Mark VIII. If they had put a more powerful engine in it, I probably would have but the Mark VIII was a real power house for its time and I wasn't ready to give that up. A friend that owns a popular Dairy in the Pittsburgh area uses this car for marketing and promotions at summer events. Turner "Tea" bird. It always attracts a lot of attention. They load the trunk with iced tea and hand it out.
  11. Its been a couple years since he's been on the forum. If he doesn't answer I will guess they are from PST or UMI Performance. Seems like I recall the GM A-body track bars fit the Riv but don't know for sure. I doubt you will find a listing specifically for the Riv for this aftermarket track bar.

    Vintage Red?

TeamBuick.com continues to have a most INCREDIBLE Reference section and in addition to everything else they have paint chip charts by year.

    Vintage Red?

Paul are you asking because of that red ebay 72? That car looks like a brighter candy red than the factory vintage red which is a darker or slightly deeper red IMO. Sometimes lighting and digital pics can skew a color from how the eye sees it in person but studying the pics in the listing it just looks like a non Buick brighter red metallic
  14. Yes a most excellent article by Randall Crain.....although, Randall Crandal rhymes! LOL
  15. Thats a real nice car. How do these specialty classic car dealers end up cars like this.
  16. Hey I still have that old book! Where does time go? I bought a 67 in 1977 when I was 16 because; I had never seen one, no kids at school had one, I favored big cars (already had a 70 Coupe Deville), and the Riv was CHEAP! $275
  17. Probably shouldn't comment as I have not had coffee yet this morning but here goes. That looks like one of the 5/16" bolts that go through about 3" of the timing cover. It did NOT break because the threads were tight in block. It broke because the aluminum timing cover is oxidized to the steel bolt essentially welding them together. Not sure if there is any of the bolt stud left that is flush or slightly above cover when the bracket is removed. If so you or someone experienced could weld a nut to what's left of the stud. You may need to remove water pump to expose enough of the stud to weld to. Obviously this requires experience. And even if you do that, you will need many heat and cool cycles to break down the oxidation then a final heat up the timing cover around the bolt just before attempting to unwind. This is assuming a nut can be welded on. If its broken off below the surface of timing cover you'll need to try removing timing cover but that WILL BE be a challenge because what's left of bolt is frozen to the cover. You might end up destroying the cover unless great patience and expertise is exercised. Plus you have to extract all the other bolts without digging a deeper hole. I could be wrong on above but if I am right, I think I'd try leaving it as-is and see what happens. You have nothing to lose at this point as repairing it could easily turn into a no turning back big project. As many do, I learned the hard way about removing water pump bolts about 40 years ago. But there is a way. They can all be removed without breaking using proper techniques and patience. The human nature to want to turn that bolt without taking proper precautions thinking you can determine if the whole thing is turning or the head is twisting off has caused many of us to suffer the ugly consequences!
  18. Paul your car was better than this IMO. For $50k asking price.... The seats are horribly amateur redone, the original door window weather stripping is shot, sits up too high in rear so wrong springs, wrong brake booster (disc brake mod..was it done right?), wrong color engine, door wiring conduits are shot, and no pics of trunk or undercarriage so it probably looks like hell. I don't think the paint is as good as pics show. I know I know negative nanny here
  19. You are correct, shipping is crazy expensive these days and might cost more to ship one than its worth. Go with cash and offer $100. It looks like it might clean up pretty good.
  20. " Loop" is original. Its name fits the description with the material being looped to create a rounded appearance on the surface. Cut pile is just cut off ends (like mowing a lawn) although it can feel more plush compared to loop. ACC pretty much makes all automotive carpeting and its marketed under many different distributors giving the impression there are many manufacturers.
  21. Wow Paul - You want to be large and in charge! 😉 At least if you find one in beautiful shape the price should affordable.....unlike those darned Boattails.
  22. Also note if the engine was rebuilt and block was decked the numbers will be MIA or mostly MIA. they usually weren't stamped too deep to begin with
