  1. Serial numbers and paperwork are important with these. As is history. There are a few that appeared out of thin air in the 1960's. They were put together out of pieces and parts in the east.
  2. Good way to kill some time on a rainy / snowy winter day:
  3. That is a blimp engine put on an automobile! Such an impressive machine.
  4. I would have to agree those photos were taken on Belle Isle.
  5. I like the faux fender on the stake body in the top photo.
  6. Sure are a lot of neat cars in the spectator and pit parking.
  7. Looks like a lot of excitement. Not sure there would be a safe place anywhere near the speedway. You would of had to pay attention to everything going on. Still would be more fun than a NASCAR race today.
  8. Looks like a 50's add on. Probably when the car belonged to some lucky high school kid.
  9. It has to do with the number of posts and likes you have. When you reach a certain number of posts you become a senior member.
  10. A stock 32 Chevy is a wonderful running and reliable machine. I would not need a sbc to be usable.
  11. I have lots of great cars in your price range. www.petersmotorcars.com
  12. The only example of a post WWII standard factory installed continental wheel I can think of is the 1956 Thunderbird. In all other cases it is a dealer installed or aftermarket accessory. That is why no two ever seem to be alike.
  13. A friend of mine found a missing headlamp for his 1909 Mitchell on ebay. He bought it over to my shop to compare it to our Mitchell and mentioned he needed a lens. We keep an old box of lens that was a parts store display circa maybe 1920. My Dad opened it up and randomly pulled out a lens. They are all in brown paper sleeves. He pulled the lens out and it was an exact match. Sometimes it can be a very small world.
  14. Has to be a 1912 Cadillac. The car has nickel trim and the box on the running board houses the Batteries, Finger Switch and Timer for the Self Starter System. the front bumper is an accessory.
  15. 1913 Cadillac Model 30 Touring with Accessory Seat Covers and Bumper.
  16. That is a handsome Packard in the ad. Reminds me of my 29 626.
  17. Looks like they are both off to a great start! The future of the hobby is secure! Keep up the good work gentlemen.
  18. This is the home of Mr. Charles Fisher President of Fisher Body and Vice President of General Motors. Located on Boston Ave. in Detroit.
  19. Not sure if this counts. But this is E.L. Cord's home in Auburn Indiana. Still looks like it did when Mr. Cord lived there.
