  1. LOL....That's too much John, I didn't realized that at all. Yes, me and Walt have been sending emails back and forth.... Those shows are EXCELLENT, I've been watching a few every night ! A lot of information and I'm learning a lot about the pre-war vehicles that I'm finding fascinating - The show with Walt's 1930 Packard has to be right up there - beautiful vehicle, it's art work in motion ! Steve
  2. Just getting caught up with my emails and just opened the latest Speedster Monthly E-Newsletter.... I took the virtual tour of the New Headquarters and it was amazing !! Is there a time frame yet on the completion of the building for next year ? Thanks ! Steve
  3. Hi John... yes there is ! I hope that this is the only "piece of the puzzle" that was missing... I have so many boxes of parts that would make your head spin ! 🙂 Thank goodness for the assembly manual with the detail pictures and my other '69 Impala that I can refer to as a reference.... otherwise I would be at a lost. Steve
  4. My center brace for the grill support came in today. This one item ties everything together - hood latch plate, upper & lower grill that I painted and the lower valence. The brace does need the two nylon nuts which the grill attachment screws into.... those are on order. I ordered extra nylon nuts, I figure that I might as well replace the nuts on the other two braces since they are 50 years old and probably getting " weak" from all the times I mounted and remounted the grills. Steve
  5. Wow.....it's sad to see that. Why not just donate it instead of destroying it ? Steve
  6. Ted, I'm going nuts going back and forth at those pictures.... all great..... I would probably go with #6..... Steve
  7. Sorry to hear that Ted..... I hope it all works out for you. Steve
  8. Just received in the mail yesterday and I saw a familiar vehicle that won in the Concours d' Elegance ... Congrats John.....Beautiful Chevrolet ! Steve
  9. Not sure if I mention this before in another post, but when I did my first restoration, black '69 Impala - a 14 year restoration, I rented a open trailer and took it to it's first major car show up in Vermont. Long story short, the following day I check all the tie-downs to make sure everything was secured for our trip home and that's when I noticed it - someone went down the driver's side and over the trunk lid with their hands, leaving a scratch in the clear coat, probably from their wedding band. Another lesson learn.... Steve
  10. I totally agree !! The lack of consideration is mind boggling ..... The last show I went to a few years ago, people would walk up to my car, look at the interior and turn around to start a conversation with their friend and the next moment, they are leaning on my car... can't tell you how many times this has happen to me - right in front of me ! I actually had people reach inside the engine compartment and start touching parts of the engine...... yeah, I never leave the vehicle now. Steve
  11. I would also highly recommend Jeff and Devon..... the metal work that they performed on my '69 SS Impala's quarter panels was second to none ! I was very happy. Steve
  12. It could possibly be that time frame.....my mother still has the pictures of the show packed away. Steve
  13. Yes, a close friend of mine went up in that B-17 a few years ago when they had a air show here at the Dutchess County Airport..... Steve
  14. Dad flew on a PBY Catalina during Korea... as a young kid, I guess I didn't really appreciate air planes. It was years later at a local air show that a PBY flew over us, making the approach to the air port.... the hair on the back of my neck stood up ! What a sound that was ! Steve
  15. your probably aware of this south of your location......Steve
  16. Great Photos, thanks for posting Steve
  17. Ted - another photo posted over on the AACA Facebook page........... photo by Scott Vermillion Steve
