It's your reflection in the side of an Airstream that you almost walked into! (I did it, 2003 Buick National. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />)

They must have built 'em better back then, cuz I can't seem to get a Sears screwdriver to last very long. When I walk in with one in my hand, a salesman takes a quick look at me and says, "Do you need to replace that?"

When you go to order parts and most of the larger parts houses know you by the sound of your voice..

People calling me 'The Kid' because I'm only 28 and them telling me how I ran my tricycle into a barricade at our annual show when I was 3.

You remember the fuss over 50s cars taking over most of the shows and not seeing much pre-war stuff.

Great thread Jeff, worth at least "two stars"!

West, if you stop using those screw drivers for "chisels and gasket scrapers", they seem to last a little longer! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

What's the sense in buying Craftsman tools if you don't abuse them.

You remember the airfield at Hershey

HMN contained far more pre war than post war cars & was not so perfectly indexed

You could buy all kinds of parts from "Ricks" in AZ (I think AZ - been a long time)

You could buy a "classic Chevy" from "Bob Wingates" - $5,000 for a clean two door hardtop, convertibles and nomads way up there in the teens.

A 1948 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet was more desirable than any musclecar. (and still is in my mind.)

Ah yes the "Rick Paks" and after you bought them you wish you didn't. I still have some of those in a box that I show customers and say "this is not the kind of repro parts you want to buy" It's my understanding the IRS got him.. I always thought a bunch of his customers formed a posse!

It may not have been that long ago, but I remember when I was the first poster on this forum to reach 100, then 500 and then 1000. And now look at my pathetic numbers compared to Wayne at over 8000!

My graphic has even disappeared.
