R W Burgess
Well, That's what Steve Martin said in the movie, "The Jeck!" No comments now. To me, this is better than a phone book. I got my new Jan-Feb issue of Antique Automobile today, Wow! Loved the new title design, the new color center section, and the C.W. Nash says; ad section was really cool. I had a problem with the captions for the front and back cover. I've got the wife trying to find them now. Also, the color inside is so good that we need to find more advertizing, or some way to raise the advertizer rates to have everything in color, excepting those old black and white that never were. I've got a few other comments. I'll give others a chance first..check it out! Thanks Steve for that last line in "Jump Start" that says, "The cars, trucks, and motorcycles are great, but the friendships last a "LIFETIME"(capitalization by me)!" That statement means everything to me involving the AACA. WaynePS; The wife found the captions, actually the story inside was not advertized near the front or in the "Table of Contents". Hard to find, guys. Great job, otherwise. RWB
stock_steve
The January-February 205 Antique Automobile just hit my mailbox here in Stony Creek, CT today as well--VERY beautifully done! Can't wait to spend some time exploring it! Congratulations and thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen!Snowing out pretty well "as we speak"--I may have more A.A. reading time than I think... 24T42
I haven't got mine yet here in NC. Might not for a few days. We are experiencing some mean winter storms. On Wednesday it took on average 8 hours to go what is usually a 15-minute drive. Oh-well, it is winter.I have to know - is the magazine in the portrait or landscapre format. Inquiring minds want to know.
R W Burgess
Judy, portrait through and through, still with the nice glossy covers, nice! Whoops, back page, landscape! The Title is eyecatching as the "Antique" part is small lower case, whereas the "Automobile" part is large in modern script. Reminds me of the high class AUTOMOBILE magazine on magazine racks everywhere. Looks like we're headed uptown! Gotta meet the new guy, West Peterson. Hope he's in Philly. Wayne

Steve Moskowitz
We have five new seminars and ended up having another room become available so we may add even more new seminars! 24T42
That last one sounds interesting - "Can't remember the other off the top of my head." I could be a presenter at this one.
R W Burgess
Steve, I see two I like already. I've heard people say, "What's the use of going to Philly to see the same old seminars over and over again?" This new material should change all of that. Great! Steve Moskowitz
It will be very interesting, I can assure you! We alaready have PLENTY of folks that can be a presenter at this seminar! Obviously I lead the list.

Took me a little while to finally figure out that the front & back cover features were detailed stories within the body of the magazine. Otherwise, like Wayne said, a great job! Steve Moskowitz
West is unhappy about the contents page and plans a revision. If that is the only real complaint I'd say he still gets an A+!
Bob Kinker
I just received my copy today. I really like it!!!! The Valiant on the back cover is GREAT. Now I need to take time & read the story!
West Peterson
Thank you all for the comments. As Steve informed you, the contents page was VERY disappointing to me when I opened the book. It was one of those things that "seemed like a good idea at the time..." I didn't have near enough time to think the contents page through thoroughly. I'm glad you're happy with the cover masthead, as that took a lot of time, and was very frustrating. I had to "let it go" for a couple of weeks. When I finally got back on it, and spent just 15 minutes playing, both Steve and I knew right away that "it was done."Please do not hesitate to chime in with comments of how the magazine could be better. It won't get fixed unless I hear there is a problem. The other page I'm not totally satisfied with is the International Calendar. Is it just me???I look forward to meeting ya'll in Philly. Steve Moskowitz
In the roughly year and a half that I have been here in Hershey I have received a lot of emails and phone calls from our members. I was not prepared for the outpouring of the positive response to the new magazine! Calls like I have received this morning have asked the question, "how can you make it better, it is perfect"! I have informed everyone that it WILL get better in everyway! What has thrilled me is that people are telling us that they are reading it from cover to cover! I have even heard from members who have not renewed (but do get this first issue) and have said they are renewing just because of the magazine. That warms all of our hearts! R W Burgess
West, the comments are well deserved. Don't feel badly about the corrections we feel may be needed either. Sometimes a comment we may make will uncover something you or your other contributors never thought of. It's great having you on the forum with us, likewise meeting you in Philly will be looked forward to. West Peterson
I don't feel bad about hearing constructive criticism. This is your magazine, and if members are having a hard time locating or reading something, I need to know or it won't get changed. Please email me with all of your comments. My email is listed at the bottom of page 2.I inherited the front and back covers. They were both "landscape" photos when I got them, but I was able to do a little Photoshop messaging (deleted one tree and stretched the sky) to the front cover that turned it into the portrait format (ideally, it should have been used in the Nov.-Dec. issue, what with the snow and Christmas presents). Unfortunately, my Photoshop skills are not capable of adding a second story to a garage or faking in a "real cool" background, and that's why the back cover is landscape. Besides, the photo was one of the winners in last year's cover contest, and to drastically alter it wouldn't be right.West

Steve Moskowitz
Wayne, I am going to have to take you out to the woodshed! A little color? This month? We have contracted for 16 pages of color in the magazine for the entire year as well as the UV front cover. This is a "permanent" change. Of course, if we can add more color we will! All of this without raising the cost of the magazine to the club...my car dealer negotiating skills work once in awhile!

bill pritchett
I really like the new format of the magazine. The front page threw me off for a little while. Gene (on the front page) is one of our club members, and I thought that was him on the cover as I recognized the car.The only problem was finding the centerfold. It probably fell out in the mail. Seriously, the magazine was an excellent upgrade. I am looking forward to seeing what the next few months will bring.See you in Philly.
R W Burgess
Seriously Steve, just keeping the UV cover, as you call it, without additional charge is a coup in my book. As far as your "arm twisting" skill, I'm ordering the new truck next month. I'll be calling you. WaynePS, OH! it will be a GM. Guest
Wayne ~ Choc is NOT referring to the AA that has lots of meetings for friends of Bill somebody. It's the other self-help operation, Antique Automobile. Choc says I need to enlighten you about my former reading habits with the old format, but I suggest you ask Steve M. about that. I'm not coming back on here to address that issue.
novaman
Looked at Dad's copy quickly this evening. I got to the calendar part and my comment was "COOL!!!". I really like the way it was done. AACA National events are easy to find (unless you are blind)with the larger font size, as are the local region and chapter events with the bold font.Looks great overall! Noe I'll go out to my mailbox. Hope my copy is there.

novaman
Mine wasn't in the mailbox. Apparently my mailman couldn't carry my issue without being overloaded today. Since he can't read beyond the digits in the address so therefore dumps all the mail with the same house number in my box, the couple ounces for a magazine probably would have thrown his back out. Peter J.Heizmann
Hi, Bob...Within the immediate region of Reading, PA one can send mail, it goes 54 miles to the Main Philadelphia Center, then, is delivered to the addressee back in Reading. Steve Moskowitz
All the magazines were shipped out at the same time. It is discouraging to us to hear all this frustration. I have asked for a meeting with the local postal people on this problem. At the very least, an explanation would help! Will let you know the results, in the meantime, it will be worth the wait!
stock_steve
Hey Bob, they did make it to *some parts* of Connecticut. When I was in college I worked as a mail sorter one summer at the big postal processing center up in the Hartford North Meadows (there used to be a Jai Alai place near there, now I think the Meadows Music Theater is the most well-known nearby landmark), midnight to 6 shift (ugh, horrible shift to work--I never felt completely "good"). From my experience, they always had us work on the first class mail first, especially the letters. The magazines and other of that type of stuff were always done at the end of the shift, "if we had time."
