bryankazmer
what's the cylindrical thing on the back seat?
John_S_in_Penna
I think this is the very car I went to see about 5 years ago. It was for sale in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and the asking price was $14,000 or $15,000 at that time. It must be the same one: There aren't many cars like this in such a close area! It's likely being resold by a different owner now. I like cars that are a bit unusual, for conversation pieces at shows, but the interior was, I felt, too wild for my taste. Good find, Fin Seeker! Thank you for sharing this.

I've seen in certain luxury-car catalogues that a buyer could get a pillow done in the same upholstery fabric as the seats.

rocketraider
Bordello Edition.💋💖👠 Cadillac's Firemist colors were always great, but the 70s were years of questionable taste inside. It wasn't only Cadillac either...
John_S_in_Penna
If that car had had a velour interior in maroon, for instance, it might be in my garage today. I recall it being in excellent condition. Here are two other 1975 Cadillacs in "cerise" color, whose pictures I saved from the internet. The one with a white top and incorrect dummy landau iron was for sale by a dealer within the past year, absurdly priced at over $30,000. The one with a maroon top was for sale too, elsewhere, but wasn't in top condition: Edited March 24, 2023 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)

I think it was in place of a front center armrest.
58L-Y8
Now, that Monticello interior is a real 1970's period fashion statement!

In checking Ebay, I see that this car sold for $9750 in an auction ended April 8. It is definitely the very same car, since the pictures are the same. https://www.ebay.com/itm/185834251007? We can see that the sales price is FAR AWAY from the original asking price of $21,000. Less than half! And the fall from $21,000 to $9750, in this case, didn't take many months. Only a couple of weeks! What a ruse that $21,000 price must have been! So the next time you see some ridiculous asking price and think you can't afford some car, remember this example. This, and other Ebay sales, show that absurd asking prices are rarely achieved, and the hobby remains affordable on many levels. Thank goodness! Jim Skelly
The Eldorados, Mark IVs and Vs, Imperials and New Yorkers, and other large cars from the 1970s are bargains compared to everything else from that decade. The downside is the reproduction parts market for them is non-existent. I've owned my '77 Eldorado for 25 years and there still aren't any exact fitting bumper fillers available. Buy the best example of one of these large cars that you can find and afford since you may never find what you need to improve the condition of it.

Jim, I hope you see this message: For replacement bumper fillers, try Replica Plastics in Dothan, Alabama, telephone 334-792-1866. I have used them twice. They have replacements for many, many dozens of GM car models, even models not yet collectible that are seldom seen. Before I bought a set for my 1979 Buick Electra, I couldn't find all the pieces at other sources. The ones I bought fit fine at the body shop; I don't know whether the body shop had to make any adjustments. Just recently, I bought a set for my 1985 Buick Riviera, and they are waiting for installation. DrumBob
I love the color, hate the awful fabric in the seats. Looks like somebody's grandmother's couch. 😒
